My go-to hotel in Chaam

Dream Boutique Hotel is my go-to hotel when in Cha-am. Great small family run hotel just a 1 minute walk to the beach. Rooms are clean and well appointed, with a soft comfy bed, hot shower, fan and AC, wardrobe, modern TV, kitchenette, sofa, and desk/eating area. Nice balcony too. They even have a lift, despite being only 4 floors high. Ground floor is a great place to hang out, with comfortable seating and great conversations with the owners and guests. Prices range from 600b to 1200b per night, with long term discounts. They rent scooters and bicycles too. Will definitely return.

Dream hotel was a great place to stay. I booked a standard room which came with a full-size bed (a bit small), wardrobe w/safe, 2 small tables, bathroom with hot water, AC, balcony, and kitchen. Kitchen had fridge, kettle, microwave, and dishes. Balcony had a table and chairs. Room was very comfortable and brightly lit. Wifi was stable. They also offer good deals for monthly stays. Staff were excellent, very helpful and kind. The lobby was very comfortable too, great place to relax with a beer or coffee. Location is perfect, just a few steps to the beach, and restaurants are everywhere. I would happily stay here again.

The owners are Tony (Australia) and the lovely Kanya (Thailand). The place is spotless! Absolutely clean, organized and so much on offer. Read my other reviews and see how picky I am, but for this budget hotel one cannot say anything other than 5 stars. It even has an elevator and is handicap accessible. At 1200 for a weekend night we got an enormous room (spotless), a lovely glass walled shower (large-ish, and yes spotless), a spring coiled mattress which really delivered, a lounge chair, a desk (actually two of them) and a little kitchenette with kettle and microwave and coffee on the house. The balcony is large with a table, two lounge chairs and a ceramic ashtray. The street is quiet. The curtains are blackout so if you like it pitch dark you get it. Towels are thick and ample, there's soap in the shower. Scooters (motor bikes, all automatic) are cheapest in the city at 200 or 300 THB (depending on size) for the entire day!!! Bicycles are 50THB a day. Loads of books in the lobby, ample English TV stations on the flatscreen in the room, and courteous, knowledgeable staff and proprietors. Free good fast internet. The beach is 50m away. You cannot complain because there's nothing to complain about. A roof top deck with BBQ to boot. Right downtown, one block from the bars....Cha Am is a bit sleepy and isn't Bangkok, but that's why you are here....for the beaches and chill. And if you are here, this is where you stay. Thanks guys for a great stay.

Very Comfortable

Only stayed one night but could easily have stayed longer. Large, comfortable, clean, brightly lit room about 100 meters from the beach. Sliding door opens to balcony with sea view, table, chairs, clothes rack. Cool quiet AC, small but adequate bath. Full sized fridge, microwave, sink, cutlery, kettle, enough to self cater. Dresser, wardrobe, safe, desk, flat screen TV. Very comfortable room, very comfortable lobby, could stay here long term and be perfectly at home. Plenty of restaurants for all budgets in every direction. Reception staff spoke excellent English and helped me with organize transport. They also offer a free shuttle to and from the bus stop. Nice touch. If I return to Cha-am, I will return to this hotel.

This is my own review checklist. When I move into a new room, my first test is to take a tissue and wipe it along an unseen top surface, such as a picture, or a door. I also wipe the bathroom sink. These two tests tell me if cleaning is thorough or haphazard. / I stayed in their superior room. The standard room is only slightly smaller. • Dust/wipe test = pass / • Transfers = If pre-arranged, they will pick up where bus drops you. Do not depend on Agoda to get a request to them. Phone direct at 0810198332 / • Location = ocean is a one-minute walk - ATMs, exchanges, bars, restaurants, 7-11s, coffee shoppes, and laundry all close by / • Check in = easy. They require a 200THB key cash deposit / • Wifi = strong and consistent / • Staff = owned and operated by an Aussi and his Thai wife. Other staff speak only Thai and are very dedicated. / • Lighting = excellent - some rooms have full-sized glass sliding-patio doors with balconies / • Towels = fine / • Toiletries = liquid soap in shower / • Room supplies = kettle with instant coffee with supplies, 2 small water bottles daily / • Door security = lock & latch / • Bed = comfortable matress and pillows / • Linens = fine / • Shower = fantastic - strong and hot with barrier and shower curtain / • In-room safe = yes, and it's bolted down / • Electrical Outlets = plenty and accessible / • Furniture = in superior room, kitchenette table with 2 chairs, long desk, sitting area lounge chair and coffee table/ • Storage = lockable drawers, and closet with hangers / • Phone = no / • TV = flat screen with articulating bracket - CNN AJ Fox TV24 RT HuaHinTV, and lots of sports. Has USB port for your own content / • AirCon = yes, and fan too / • Facilities = like the whole hotel, the elevator is clean and modern. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby. There is a rooftop rest area with lounge chairs, a shower, and a WC. / • Room details = in superior room, a kitchenette with microwave and full-sized fridge / mirrors / • Housekeeping = comprehensive and professional / • Sink = shelf, good articulating mirror, no dedicated light / • Curtains = yes - 90% block out / • Noise = rooms are quiet / • Restaurant = no, but room service available / I highly recommend this place in Cha Am.
