Beautiful, service oriented hotel in the heart of the French Quarter

The Spectator hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the French Quarter of Charleston. They provided so many free amenities during our stay including check in cocktails, breakfast in our room, nightcaps with turn down service, butler services and bikes to explore the area. The front desk arranged all our sightseeing tours too. Making it feel easy and safe. The rooms are beautiful and laid out so that you feel right at home. I can’t say enough about the staff. From the front desk, to the bartenders, butlers and valets they treated us like more than another patron, we were truly treated as family guests. Many of the staff even called us by name throughout our stay. We throughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again.
Best Place to Stay for Charleston!

Great experience for girls weekend! Central location for walking everywhere in downtown Charleston--AWESOME service with Melissa, Darryl, David, Javon and James! Also, 4 options given for complimentary breakfast, complete with Gluten free option delivered to the room! I have visited Charleston many times and this is the BEST!

We had a wonderful time at this hotel! The staff is incredibly attentive, helpful and friendly! The room is spacious and beautifully appointed. My hubby loved the super soft mattress!! Breakfast was absolutely delish, the snacks-try the gummy bears, even if you don’t like gummies-drinks, and cocktails were an amazing surprise!! The location can not be beat, one block over from the Old Market, we walked everywhere. No need to get out car from the valet. The only minor annoyance was the lack of water pressure in the shower. We had a great visit and will definitely come back!
Loved it overall

We loved this hotel from the moment we walked in. The lobby and bar area were artful throwbacks to an earlier era. I could sit the lounge by the bar for hours. The bed and pillow comfort were decent, both the room and bathroom were very spacious. We appreciated the smaller details such as the charging cube and iPod dock by the bed and the heated towel rack. The only ding was that maybe the shower had some staining that could be best cleaned professionally with power washing. Also worth mentioning were that the towels were a little musty-smelling but maybe that could have been from the heating element (hopefully). The location was perfect, the service was great, and the TV seemingly had a bunch of channels and music to choose from.
By far, the finest hotel I've ever stayed in!!

Spent two nights at the Spectator Hotel for a corporate event we planned with their sister hotel The French Quarter Inn. The attendees were all business owners and they were just as impressed with this hotel as I was. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. Unlike an earlier reviewer, I had no issue with the bed and actually thought it was very comfortable. My room had a delightful private patio and the Nespresso machine made the best cup of coffee I've had in a long time. I appreciated that the room was stocked with cold beverages and snacks that were all complimentary. There was a signature cocktail at check in and a special treat each night. My favorite was the chocolate cups filled with liquor---yummy. The bar area felt like a place where James Bond would have enjoyed his martini. The location is within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. I hope I get a chance to return one day!
