Wonderful hotel. Clean, quiet and great location. Beds are comfortable. Air conditioner quiet. Wonderful pool and hot tub. Beautiful lobby. Enjoyed the restaurant. Front desk staff is very warm and helpful.
Very happy with the selection

If you want to spend time in the downtown area this hotel is in the best location. Free parking and everything was so close that you can walk in the restaurants and coffee shops.
Pet friendly, although you have to pay a fee ($125) for your pet.
The room was ok, spacious, the bed was comfy, and the most important it was clean. The only thing that I didn’t like was the tiny bathroom.
Staff was helpful all the time, and I liked the restaurant in the first floor. I had the best breakfast there. I definitely recommend this hotel.
Dated, but comfortable property with friendly staff

I was worried about staying here based on some of the recent reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a bit dated, but everything works, was clean, and the hotel is cheaper than some nearby properties in worse locations. Staff were all very friendly and helpful; always willing to provide additional amenities when asked. A/C worked great. Nice indoor and outdoor pools alongside a decent gym. Water pressure and hot water were fantastic in the shower. Probably the best location in Charlottesville: right on the traffic-free Downtown Mall. Parking is free. For those needing to get to UVa, there's a free bus just a couple blocks away -- or, in cooler weather, a 20-minute walk.
Some areas for improvement: free WiFi should be faster; a few hairs in the shower; mattresses need to be replaced; and room was missing shampoo (had to request it at reception).
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The hotel was fine and the location is great on one of the United States' best pedestrian malls.
First-Class Hotel - Great Location, Nice Rooms and Attentive Service

On a multi-day trip through the upper South culminating in a wedding in NC we pulled into the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville after two nights in Gettysburg at the Wyndham. What a difference! For approximately the same price, the Omni offered a much nicer location, nicer rooms, and most importantly, an attentive staff who a) actually delivered on service promises and b) listened to us and made recommendations based on local knowledge and at least some concern for our experience.
It may be that I was preconditioned to over-react to any semblance of concerned service after staying at the Gettysburg Wyndham, but I am puzzled at some of the other comments on this hotel. We found the rooms to be clean and not particularly dated. There was one minor maintenance problem with our room (nonfunctioning outlet) that was fixed immediately after we reported it, a level of responsiveness you don't often see these days. Likewise puzzled about negative comments on the location - the pedestrian mall may have suffered during COVID, but there was a perfectly adequate inventory of restaurants, bars and stores within a five min walk. We are pretty mobile senior walking types, and within a 5 min walk you can get excellent coffee, tapas, barbeque, soup/salad, Southern, French cuisine etc. Expand the search area to a 20 min radius and it's hard to believe you will not be satisfied with the large assortment of low-end and premium food and the UV campus (well worth the walk).
If I were visiting Charlotte I would stay here again without hesitation.
So, four or five stars? Always a tough call. The Omni is clearly not in the same league as the Four Seasons, my benchmark for five star hotels, but considering the excellent price and the service, which is something that you cannot fake with a coat of paint or new furniture, I am calling this one a five star.
Free covered parking is included, and access to local attractions such as Monticello is good.

Great location and free parking on the premises but the rooms were not clean enough for my standard. I was not told that the rooms will not be cleaned everyday. They were short on staff so we ended up waiting awhile in the restaurant and bar. Also, the room rates are very high. I would not recommend it to any of my family or friends.
