Fab hotel. Every area is kept spotless by the super cheerful staff. The guys in reception and breakfast room can always be heard laughing and always greet you with a smile-we were made to feel so welcome. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Downtown isn't all that far and it was actually quite a pleasant walk

Nice Chattanooga Hotel

Nice hotel located near downtown. It is not walkable but we had a car so it was a quick drive. The parking was free ( or at least not ana additional $20 like many downtown hotels) which was nice. The rooms were spacious and clean. I did not like the smell of the detergent or whatever the used on the sheets but other than that everything was nice. The breakfast was ok- No waffle or pancakes, but my kids enjoyed it and ate well.

Since the pandemic hotels have not been delivering maid service every day. This hotel is the exception. They come daily and provide clean towels also. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good and fresh. The hotel is a little off from most other buildings. This makes it have less traffic and noise. We did not receive adjoining rooms that had been requested with our reservation. This was the only disappointment in the hotel. A list of good local restaurants would have also been helpful. There was a problem with the towel rack that was quickly addressed. The hotel is very convenient to downtown Chattanooga. Not walking distance but just a few minutes drive. We felt safe in the area around the hotel. I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay

Overcharging youth athletic club by $1000. Unforgivable.

Can I give you negative stars? I whole heartedly do not recommend this hotel. We traveled with a youth athletic team and chaperones and stayed two nights. Original reservations were for three nights, a month before our stay we changed it to two nights. Aside from having to contact an employee's personal cell phone (shady, right?) to change our reservation and never receiving email confirmation, this hotel has now over-changed our nonprofit youth athletic club about $1000 in room fees for nights we never stayed. Now we are trying to get our money back. Don't stay here. Spend the extra $30 at a hotel with a better reputation. A manager flat out called us liars, and after 4 hours on the phone with IHG group, we were told that they can't help because the Holiday Inn Expresses are independently owned and run. Good thing we have a 15 hour car ride back home to deal with this. PS - all of the shower curtains are hung wrong and water will run out of your shower all over the floor. If someone sleeps next to you in the bed it feels like you are in a taco. the OJ dispenser is broke. That sort of stuff I can deal with. Taking money from a youth athletic club that isn't yours is unforgivable.

Reservation was messed up on arrival. Confirmation # was paired with some other person's name even though all emails had come to me. Made for a long check in process. Location was misleading. Website implied that it was only 1/2 mile or so to Aquarium but it actually required driving as there were few sidewalks and no safe way to walk.The room they found for us was ok. Beds, pillows were comfortable and there was minimal noise.Ample counter space in the bathroom but the door squeaked loudly. However, the coffee pot did not work and the outside door to the hallway was very difficult to close. The "hot" breakfast that was advertised: no forks, no eggs, no fruit, no oatmeal. I tried three times to find these items but the bins stayed empty. Disappointing.
