Clean and well maintained
We stayed at the Towne Place during our trip from Chicago to Orlando - the staff was friendly and efficient. The room was as advertised - clean and well suited for an evening stay. The check was quick and location met our needs
Atrocious, Horrible experience !!!!
We have never seen anything worst then this from all the Marriotts we stayed at in the past. Checking in- As I walk in to check in, I was greeted by a not so friendly African American lady. She had dinning room tables set in front of the checking desk where she was seating. She never smiled or made eye contact. She asked for credit card and ID. Once she was finished she asked me to reach out to the card reader to swipe my credit card. Did she expect me to climb on top of the table to reach out to the card reader?! I literally had to move the heavy table to swipe the credit card. She pretended to be busy looking at her computer monitor the entire time. I asked her for one extra towel and she tells me they are no towels available. I wasn’t sure if she had a bad day or she hates her job or both. After receiving my keys, another customer enters in and asks her if they can borrow a cart for their luggage. She tells them that if there isn’t one at the entrance that they must go look for one at each floor. WOW!!!! Room- We walk into our room and as we settle with my family, I began to set up for dinner. We had picked up takeout from Carrabas on our way to our hotel. We had to use plates, silverware and glasses for our drinks because the restaurant did not provide any so I look in the cabinet. To my surprise there are missing dishes, silverware and glasses. I knew they were missing because on the same trip we stayed at 3 other Town Place suites and all of them had 4 of each. I found a few silverware and a used plastic silverware from the previous guest. Once dinner was done I washed the dishes, and dried them with paper towelIs. I take out the trash can under the sink and I find melted chocolate ice cream scattered all over where the trash can was placed. ( see pictures) I begin to inspect the beds. Here is what found- hair grease, make up on two pillows, coffee stains on the sheets and perfume scent one of the sheets. Ever since COVID started, every hotel company started to say all the new and improved ways they were focusing on keeping everything clean. As you can see they are not. Doing this during a coronavirus pandemic? When my face could be on the same pillowcase that someone else’s face was on? For hours? No. Just…no. I can clean the remote, light switches, knobs, handle, etc. myself. But the whole bed thing? 👎🏼 No Yes, I did give them a piece of my mind and brought down the dirty pillows. They switched my room to a higher floor. As we get out of the elevator the we see a trash can full of cans and pizza boxes and the floor had no A/C and hallways were dark. I think the floor had no guest and we were the only ones. As we walk to our room, we see 8-9 cops walking down the hall. We asked them if everything was okay. One of them responded “yes everything is okay we are just doing a training” Really?! At 11pm at night in a hotel? What is this? We finally settled into the second room and this time you can tell the sheets were changed. We got up very early the next day because we had an 8 hour drive. As I am walking to the front desk my husband sees something on my left leg. He removes it and it’s a tick! I wanted to die! How in earth did I get a tick!!!!!! This experience went from bad to worst. I wanted to drive as fast as I could once I got in our car. I called Marriott to let them know our experience. They did not charge us for that night and apologize. Why is this occurring? We are fighting this pandemic crisis, people are dying from COV19, business are closing down, people are loosing jobs they are getting our business and this is what we get in return!!!!??? I hope you took the time to read this post and think twice before staying here. For our safety and everyone else’s I wrote this long review to alert everyone. Please clean each surfaces of your hotel rooms with alcohol, inspect the bed sheets. This is what happens when hotels pay minimum wage to those poor housekeepers and over work them. A note to management- our stay was on 8/13. We couldn’t remember the front desk lady’s name but she was a heavy set African American women in her 50’s. The next morning we asked the older man at the front desk for her name and he though it was Tammy but was not 100% sure. Please train her and remind her to be kind to the guest that contribute to her paycheck. She could be home unemployed worrying about how to pay for her bills. Her attitude was as bad as the experience we had with our stay.
NOT Marriott Standards.
A few years back, we stayed at the Residence next door and had no issues. Since this one is next door, we didn't hesitate to book here. I got a bit nervous when we pulled up and saw two guys sitting outside drinking a bottle of whiskey and bottles of soda at 9pm. We went in, went to our room, and found ANTS crawling on top of the refrigerator and crawling along the baseboard near the door. That screams "food not cleaned up". The refrigerator door looked like something had been running down it. Then there was a splotch of SOMETHING white on the carpet. We went downstairs and on the way down, I saw a police officer walking down the hall looking at door numbers. YIKES. We were assigned another room across from the one we had. This room didn't have ants, but it wasn't the typical Marriott by any means. I read in responses from management on here they had done a renovation in 2019. I'd like to know where they were because I didn't see any. Oh wait..the carpet and laminate flooring looked newer, but that was it. That didn't make up for the beat-up cupboards and filthy old chair in the corner. I DID like the closet system near the door...it had an interior light and a storage system. That was helpful, but there was also food on the floor in there soooo. It was a cleaner room than the first. I should be grateful for that. It was quiet. We had no noise issues. In the morning, I hauled the iron and ironing board out and there was crusty yellow crap on it. EW. We then heard loud voices outside the window. We looked down and saw two people rolling and smoking a joint. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? No wonder the rate here was so cheap! You get what you pay for. Next time, I'll check out the neighborhood, reviews, etc before booking anywhere. MARRIOTT....this property is NOT doing you any favors.
Nope
Room dirty , crumbs on floor , stain on bed, hot room, mean front desk staffing . Bias staffing , ask for bedding no reply . Nasty stuffy smell . The last visit was much better . Im an agent too and the staff gave me a very bad room. Only good thing is bed was soft
Good experience
Looks new, very clean facility. Beds medium comfort. Excellent friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately business center pc was frozen but staff helped me print documents needed. Due to COVID only had grab and go breakfast. Overall pretty good.
