Very friendly, comfortable and convenient. Do go to the bar too!

The hotel is in a suburban setting, pleasant but nothing special. The rooms are clean and the beds, comfortable. Breakfast was good value. We used this as a stop-off on the way back to England from Provence and would do so again. We had an enjoyable meal at the St Hubert, 10 minutes walk into town, where there was great excitement and a fun run! But best of all was the welcome. The couple who run the hotel are super. She speaks good English, he, less so, but they were just very amicable. We loved, after a long drive, saying goodbye to the patron and walking out of the door to go to the nearby bar, walking into the bar and being greeted by same patron with a look of mock surprise on his face. Just an ordinary bar but again, friendly people and entertaining. Even the cyclists were friendly . As we walked into the town, a complete stranger rode by and called “Bienvenu a tous”. Very nice in a decently ordinary way and a good mid route stay.

Just completed skiing and wanted to see a bit of France. Interesting town in easy distance of hotel. Lovely meal opposite new cinema. Returned to hotel. Into bed, turned on news and wham! France is closing.
The hotelier was superbly friendly with a great welcome. She was able to translate the news and avert some panic re fuel for journey etc.. we had a nice breakfast, a good chat and felt really sorry for the hotel who did not seem to know what was actually going to happen eg close the bar etc etc. We wish them all the best.
Room 3 was spacious, clean and overlooked the car in the hotel car park which was free of charge stay safe and bone chance to all.
A very friendly welcome

This is a small hotel in a quiet residential area 5 minutes walk from the town centre. The room was large and comfortable. The owners were charming and we had a long chat with the proprietor about the history of the town. She spoke excellent English but talked to us in French when she realised that we were speakers, a rarity these days. The owners even waved us off when we left in the morning.
This is an excellent overnight stop halfway through France
Friendly welcome, near town centre

A small family-run hotel in a residential area five to 10 minutes from the centre of town. It was very important for us to have secure private parking, and we had been told it was, so we were rather surprised that there was not even a gate to close the small parking area. We were concerned, but the proprietors were very nice and friendly and assured us they had never had a problem. Our room was quite a reasonable size, clean, and nicely decorated in calming, cool shades of grey, very tasteful. Sadly, the bed was rather too firm for us, and my pillow was really lumpy and uncomfortable, so much so that I didn't sleep very well, though my husband didn't have the same problem, he just woke up aching because of the firm mattress. Breakfast was nothing special, very basic, with extremely strong coffee. So it was OK for one night, but I don't think we'd stop there again.
Really nice place!

Whilst cycling through France I had to stay in chaumont due to technical problems and whilst the town itself has little to recommend it, especially to a cyclist sitting as it does on top of a massive hill, this little hotel made the whole experience a happy one. Basic, but spotlessly clean rooms and the patrons were lovely. Highly recommended!
