A very pleasant stay, good price/quality ofer
This obviously is not a modern hotel, but an older guesthouse. My 1-night stay, for work, was pleasant. I was welcomed very friendly, showed around (also showing meth emergency exit) and received my keys (front door and room door). My room was spacious enough, with a 1 person bed (with a decent mattress, not too soft), a seat, a television and a wardrobe (with a few cloth hangers). The room Alsop had a sink/tap and mirror, where I could take care of my personal things. The room was clean and tidy. Although there is a Loy going on outside, it was quiet after 10/11 pm and I slept very well. Separate from the room I also had bathroom, with toilet and bath/shower. The shared dining room ws on the ground-floor. Breakfast (incl. coffee/tea and juice) was available, a toaster, a fridge and a microwave. The essentials were all present. I had a chat with another guest (living abroad) the evening and the morning after. I did not really have time to explore, but I believe there are a few shopping locations nearby. And in the street there are a few snackbars, where one can get a kind of meal for the evening. There is some space to park a few cars. The guesthouse had it's charms and I will surely not hesitate to return if I need to be around again. Thank you, Frankie.
Lovely stay
Stayed here one night whilst at a conference at Chester zoo, not too far away, room was lovely, landlady welcoming and helpful, good breakfast choice, highly recommend this place to colleagues, just a nice place to stay
Value for money
Great value for money , clean comfortable and friendly. Liked the free Wi Fi and the DIY breakfast , landlady was very helpful Will definitely stay here again next time I work down this way Positioned well for getting in and out of the city which is also a bonus
Good Value, close to Chester
Pro's - clean, warm, comfortable, friendly, good value, continental style breakfast included, free wi-fi and close to Chester Con's - shared facilities, next to a busy feeder road into Chester and limited off road parking What can I say? This has to be the best value B&B I have stayed in...I had a room over looking the the rear garden area....it was plenty big and fairly quiet. The landlady was friendly and gave us plenty of handy tips about local restaurants etc. I read some other reviews before booking our group into the Garden Gate and can only assume that some have unrealistic expectations of what £25.00 per night buys you this close to a major city...and a stone's throw from the business park. As it turned out , because we stayed 4 nights the landlady gave us a special deal...so worth asking when you call to book if your stay qualifies for a reduction.

Had a wonderful stay at The Garden Gate Guest House. Frankie was lovely to me and made me very welcome.Very friendly and clean Guest house. Great value for money. Will definately use again next time I'm in the area on a business trip.
