Working relationship
Front desk service was one of the best that I have seen for quite some time, the staff went out of their was to do all they could. The only major problem is there is NO parking places for this hotel with in 2 square blocks and differently no place to unload a bus load of students with out being in the traffic lane.
Alas, my favorite hotel declined during pandemic
This has been my favorite hotel forever years. I usually stay here twice a year for its modern vibe, great location, reasonable price, spacious rooms, and boutique feel. Stayed here this weekend (my first visit to Chicago in two years), and was sad to see that it is in a slight decline. Staff are still very friendly and helpful. But signs of wear are suddenly apparent all over. Bed was lumpy, more dings on walls, bath fixtures less pristine, hall carpets fraying. Small things that add up. Worst of all is the breakfast—which used to be fabulous. As they adapt to Covid practices, the good folks at Ema have not found their rhythm yet. The breakfast sandwich I grabbed yesterday was, well, cold and disgusting. I ate one bite and threw it away. I’ll be skipping breakfast today. No thanks. My sympathies are with the hospitality industry as they try to rebound. I hope Hyatt will invest in this property to restore its cool vibe soon!
Excellent and Welcoming Stay
Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The location was fantastic and the rooms and views were great! It was unfortunate that there were things unavailable but we know that was only due to COVID restrictions. We will definitely stay again!
Beds weren’t comfortable
The AC wasn’t working well . Room was stuffed and the housekeeping came only once during our six day stay. That being said, not enough food to grab for breakfast, poor options, if you come later no food is left.
Family trip
Very good location. Close to downtown by walk. Quality fruit for breakfast. There was silence and restful sleep 🛌😴 on the 16th floor. The bed was big and comfortable. I missed the tourist information brochures. I thought some discount could be provided by the hotel for various tourist attractions, but no.
