BUYER BEWARE: January 2022 Review

I just booked this hotel through a corporate program due to the centric location. AFTER I booked it, they display a message saying that in my $558.72 total reservation, the hotel will charge $322.68 in "resort fees". That's nearly 60% of the total. I went back to check if there was any mentions of this prior booking and there none. 60% of hidden "resort fees" in a hotel in downtown Mexico city (not Cancun, going there for work), in the pandemic where amenities have limitations is clearly a scam. PLEASE BEWARE, these fees are NOT displayed prior to booking.

EXCELLENT HOTEL IN VERY GOOD AREA

I booked this hotel as I wanted to be close to the center. it’s on the paleo de la reforma opposite the angel of independence statue. excellent bellmen who took my bags asap from Uber. Then to the check in, easy and simple got on the club floor with great views of the angel -17 th floor. the hotel felt not very busy, probably do to covid. Club floor lounge was excellent breakfast place, with many options. Evening drinks and hor d’s, was nothing special and only went there one night to see. Only beer they had to offer was Corona , now you will understand. surely, a power deal for them. Anyway, check out was easy and taxi to airport no issues. I would def stay here again next time.

Fantastic Service and Elite Recognition

Had a very nice stay last week at this property, recap and photos below. We arrived late in the evening on Christmas Eve, still the staff at the front door and check-in were friendly and helpful even at the at the late hour. Check-in was very friendly and thorough explaining all benefits and hotel offerings. Also confirmed our Titanium upgrade to a Corner Suite using Suite Night Upgrades. We knew this hotel was a bit older and maybe not as modern as other offerings in the area but we were actually pleasantly surprised with the Corner Suite. It has a nice little view of the Angel Monument and it was in very good condition and not particularly dated in our opinion. The corner suite has two full bath's which worked out pretty well, the wife did not have to share bathroom space with me! The lounge was open and and the staff at the lounge was hard working and friendly. The first couple of days it was not very busy but it definitely got busier the last few days of our trip. The staff kept up and stayed very helpful and friendly at all times. We only went to the evening service one time but it had some decent food offerings, if you arent terribly hungry it might be enough to replace dinner. We really enjoyed breakfast as the offerings changed up just enough to keep from getting boring and of course the service was always good. The only thing I didnt like was the coffee, found it to be weak. They have coordinated on site covid testing with a medical group. It is done onsite for about 2 hours each morning and was about 200MXN each, found that very reasonably. The group that did the testing made sure to verify all info so that you got your email etc and that the info was correct. I think it took less than 2 hours from the time we took the test to get results. We dined at the restaurant for dinner and lunch. We found it to be ok I guess. We liked the outdoor dining area but there was little atmosphere and would say that was the least inspiring part of of our stay. Nothing bad but the staff did not seem as enthusiastic here as the rest of the property. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the property.

Great centrally located hotel for BonVoy Elites

We stayed at the Sheraton for 3 nights. The staff was very impressive, everyone was friendly and professional. They seemed eager to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is centrally located. We would not hesitate to stay at the Sheraton again. As platinum elite, we were upgraded to a junior suite. We were able to use the concierge lounge on Friday night & for breakfast all 3 days. The lounge is beautifully decorated, there was a wide selection of snacks, and the staff was lovely. The lounge is closed on Saturday & Sunday night, and, instead, the hotel will deliver drinks and snacks to your room. It was great to have a room service option! The hotel also delivered a welcome snack to us after we checked in. It was delicious. The room was a bit dated, but very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was phenomenal.

Excellent and Highly Commendable Staff Customer Service

I would like to acknowledge the superb customer service by Daniela Grau (Room Controller) and Iván from the front desk for their assistance on my room change request. They were very helpful and communicated with me constant updates on the request. I would like to make a commendation for the Club Lounge and kitchen staff for their excellent customer service towards the guests. It was a very busy time during our stay but I know they never fail to smile behind their face masks. ❤ I would like to give a special mention to Diana Verdin, Leslie, Jose Luis, Fidel and Luis for always welcoming us with a smile and greetings in our visits to the Club Lounge. Also, I would like to give a special mention to Cecilia, for always remembering how we wanted how strong our morning coffee is. She would always ask "Strongest?". We appreciate it. She is very friendly and accommodating. Muchos gracias! I enjoy staying at Sheraton Maria Isabel.
