More about the hotel
Excellent location & hospitality! Comfy place for family.
This was a last minute stay due to problems at the originally scheduled stay at the Sintra Pine House (do not recommend that place). We were received by Caroline who was very friendly and walked us through all the amenities that Quinta da Vigia had to offer. The view of the sea, heated pool, pool table, etc., The only problem was with the heated water which kept shutting out. Caroline came over immediately and helped fix the problem. Offered alternatives but we were quite satisfied. I highly recommend this place.
Perfect location, clean and spacious apartment style rooms.
The location is off the main road and is in walking distance of the beach. In October the ocean water is very cold and we saw many surfers enjoying the waves. Stunning view of the ocean. The apartment style rooms are spacious and clean and the service is good. The restaurant food is very good and reasonably priced. There is a kitchenette with a stove top, microwave, mini fridge and nice cutlery. There is a nice seating area outside of your room. There is no wifi in the room but you can walk over to the game room and use it there, but we were able to connect using our own hotspot from our cell phone. It is a great place for couples or a family who want to relax by the ocean.
Aweful
We booked a 2 weeks holiday here. We asked for an apartment and we told the place we were coming with a 4 months old baby. They said to us that the necessary would be done for the baby (crib etc.). When we arrived at 10.30pm (our flight was delayed) there was no suitable bed for the baby, only duvet piled up on one another... Which is obviously very dangerous for a 4 months old baby. And the guy booked a room for us and not an apartment... For the same price. Plus, it was dirty. Moreover, when we came to speak with the guy he was very upset and not nice at all. Anyway, we left and had to find another accomodation at 11.30pm with a 4 months old baby. We managed to have free canceled reservation only because booking.com (the website we booked through) asked the guy to do it. Btw, except for that booking.com was of no help at all! Bad experience ever in Portugal. No representative at all of people here.
Perfect for our family
I travelled with my family (3 children). We spent a week in Quinta da Vigia and felt whole time warmly wellcome, staff was friendly and helpfull, pool was clean and nice and our apartment very suitable for a family with children. Kitchen was good enough to prepare our own meals. Yard was safe. There were three beaches in a walking distance. If world weren't so big and there weren't so many places to explore (although Portugal was allmost last new European country for us), I'm sure we would come back there. Actually I'm already missing there.
Nightmare in Quinta da Vigia
I Had a T1 apartment in Quinta da Vigia. This hotel is a nightmare, the apartments are all very dusty, there is almost no cleaning and most things don't work. This is the most crappy hotel I've ever stayed in. Would not recommend to anyone. It's not worth 10% of the price!
