Worst service ever
The hotel itself is nice and modern but its always the staff that make the hotel. Reception and restaurant staff, both unfriendly, sad looking, don't feel like to do anything appearance. They show that..... leave me in peace look all the time. I thought they were looking forward for guests on crisis time!! But No Also,be careful.....Rooms are Not cleaned....due to Covid was told....ohh.. saves staff for the hotel😉 Buffet is self service, everyone grabbing the same tongs for the food after each other. All by the rules,we were told.....anyway,for us was not hygienic nor safe to touch same utensils after each guest,no matter what they say... but coincidentally it Saves staff again, for hotel 😉 Other hotels buffet is served by the cooks!! And rooms are cleaned daily. To add....we found spiders in the room daily,we didn't complain until the last night,we are no complainers. Until we found spiders on the bed too. They gave us a room change, was good and spacious, although both rooms had tiny bathrooms, with door hitting the toilet!!! We took this hotel as we were in Novotel Madrid city centre.....Excellent hotel....and service, unlike this. So a big NO to this!!!!
Unspectacular
Although you don't expect anything but the usual standard in these kind of hotels i did find it the hotel to be on the low side of the scale. The whole design is very boring and nothing exceeds a 3 star hotel. The tray with the cups was dusty, windows very dirty. So I cannot believe there are any special cleaning measures taken at the moment. Fridge did not work very well. The shower the beds were nice.
Nice stay and nice location
The hotel is near the river and has a nice walk distance to the city center. Also they have a very good policy against Covid-19 with "Hand hygiene stations" across the entire hotel. They also have a very nice garden area for breakfast and the staff were very nice.
Very good hotel near the old city
For a 4-star city hotel it is very decent en clean. And the hotel is situated near some landmarks and at walking distance to the old city and other sights. The reception staff were very friendly and accomodating and gave excellent information. As for the room, we got rooms on the 4th floor which were all clean and decent. There were tea and coffee facilites in the form of a kettle. There was a small safe and a fridge. The only comment I have on the fridge is that it doesn’t cool. It is very small and in closing the door there seems to be a gap which causes the built up cooling to dissipate out. A good fridge in the summer heat is very preferable, so that was disappointing. Bed was okay and the sheets clean. Bathroom looked well maintained. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of food choices, even for a vegetarian/vegan. All in all I would visit it again if the price was right (always look for the option to include breakfast it’s worth it), with the hopes that the fridge would be fixed or replaced.
Great hotel, nice large beds
Stayed here on a trip around northern Europe. The hotel was a 5-10 minute walk from the city centre opposite the chocolate museum and river Rhine, which was a pleasant walk I may add. The room itself was large, which we liked. A king-size bed and also a sofa bed for our kid. So plenty of space. The shower was lovely, just what was needed after a long day walking in the hot sun. Water pressure was very good and temperature was also hot (I hate limp, cold showers). Another good thing that gets a big thumbs up are the curtains, they blocked out all the light and made the room dark, again, which I like. Staff were friendly and parking was a doddle, albeit 17 euro a day which we found reasonable. We didn't have any food there but it did look nice and comments from other guests said it was good. I would stay here again next time we visit. Thank you Novetel.
