Was probably nice 10 years ago...
The pool area needed a remodel; the pool water was very cloudy and the bottom of the spa was rust covered as well as most of the metal surfaces in the pool area...needless to say we did not use the pool area for the four nights we were here. The lobby and bar area was clean but there was not free breakfast whatsoever. The whole hotel needs an update. It was not dirty but there are many other hotels in the area that are newer and with similar accommodations for the same price.
Reservation not honored
I reserved a hot tub suite for a romantic evening. When we checked in, the room we were given didn't have a hot tub. Apparently, that's my fault for reserving the room through Choice Hotels, their parent company. That's what the front desk told me. If I would have called the hotel directly, he assured me there would have been no mix-up. I suppose it was also my fault that it took me 26 minutes to make that reservation with the off shore call center employee who couldn't pronounce my name right, too. I did not choose to stay after this, so I can't comment on the full experience, but I will say that what I saw did not impress me. The last four feet of sidewalk was not shoveled, so we had to trudge through snow to get to the entrance. We were only given one key card. They were experiencing a key card shortage, I was told in explanation. The furniture in the lobby was scratched and worn. The door behind the front desk had large blotches where the paint was completely worn away. The hallway smelled of cigarrettes. The king suite we were given felt claustrophobic. You could almost touch two walls simultaneously from anywhere in the room.
Just Not Worth the up-charge
I thought we’d splurge and upgrade from Comfort Suites. On the outside you’d think it was a good upgrade, but fancy finishes can’t hide poor quality construction. I’m not sure how old the facility actually is, but everything is starting to look beat up, from the doors in the halls to the curtains in the rooms. Good grief, the door to the closet can’t even open all the way?!? The worst however is to find that it is built with what I assume is wood construction so that every movement from the occupants above (including vacuum) radiates through the room above. When you have to get ear plugs to finally fall asleep around 1 am that is just unforgivable. This one won’t be on my list to stay at again.
Terrible
Hotel staff not wearing masks, stairwells filthy, room service food inedible, bed uncomfortable, certainly not covid clean, smelly, very disappointing, certainly doesn't deserve more than one star, many better choices in area
Great stay
I had not stayed at a Cambria Suites before and I was very pleased. There was a pleasant sitting area with its own TV and a desk for my computer. I especially liked the bathroom feature of the motion-sensor -- no fumbling for a switch. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
