Stay somewhere else

My stay here was a disaster. The locking mechanism in my door broke, and no one at the hotel could get me into my room. I waited for three hours until after 2 am to finally get in. They moved me to a different room, and that one had a torn-up, old carpet in the corner that was gross. They apologized and said that my stay at the hotel would be comped for the inconvenience of waiting up half the night for this to get fixed, and it never was. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. The restaurant screwed up our breakfast orders and the service was slow. No one with the hotel paid any attention to any mask requirements. Location is good, but there are plenty of other options, and this place isn't worth half of what they charge.

Needs updating

This hotel is in serious need of renovations. The bathroom shower door was broken so it wouldn’t t close properly. The caulking was moldy. The toilet ran continuously. Many electrical outlets didn’t work. The wall paper was ripped. The best feature of this hotel is that it’s in a good location

Staff is great. Rooms were nice... but not very clean.

Kristie is awesome! She was accommodating and very helpful with information about local things to do. We made a last minute plan to stay here over night. Although I blundered when I ordered a room online, Kristie was able to move me into a room a really wanted. The government rate is more than fair, which I appreciated. The location of the hotel is great and the view from our room was pretty amazing too. The only complaints I had was no microwave (for our late night food binges) and the room wasn't the cleanest. There was something sprayed on the bathroom mirror like someone brushed their teeth and flung it every where. There was also a handprint on the bathroom door in what my husband thought might be blood. I didn't notice it until the next day, so I didn't say anything about it until we checked out. I would stay here again if necessary, but I would be much more detailed when inspecting the room when I first walk in.

A mixed bag, but ultimately good and staff is lovely

It didn’t start well. Arriving late at night after a long road trip. I got sketchy instructions to access the underground public parking over a block away and navigate to the proper elevator there (in deserted space) to return to the Sheraton lobby. Come on. All Sheraton needs is a simple printed map w/short written instructions for above and below ground. I got to my room on the 16th floor to hear, then find, a running toilet with a broken handle. Sigh...headed all the way back down to lobby - where, thankfully, lovely Rachel immediately switched the room and comped me a full breakfast next morning. From here on in, things were fine. Room was clean and very comfortable, and Mohamed at (a tasty full-service) breakfast was a sweet gentleman, attentive but unintrusive. Will update with cost of parking for one night.

Worst experience ever

Check in time was 4pm, however we didn't arrive till nearly 6pm. Us, along with several other parties were told the hotel overbooked. We would have to wait for them to flip a room or they could transfer us to another hotel. We opted to be transfered, as we were road tired, and wanted to rest and freshen up, as we had somewhere to be later. We were then told we would have to wait for that as well, because they needed a manager's approval. Long story short, nearly two hours later we were told they had a room for us. When we got into the room, it appeared clean. However, upon closer inspection there was someone's body lower body hair on the restroom floor. The toilet required us hold the handle down for it to flush properly. There was a huge crack in the sink. A few of the towels were yellowed and not bright white. The in room coffee maker did not have an outlet in the room, and required us to plug it in, in the restroom. The corner lamp in the room didn't have any bulbs in it. The a/c unit barely cooled the room. The bed was less than comfortable. Coupling the uncomfortable bed along with the warm room, I barely slept that night. Likely resting 3 of the 7 hours spent laying down. This is not what I would expect from a Sheraton located across the street from our state capital, let alone a Sheraton as a whole. Worst hotel experience ever. We would have been better off at a Day's Inn. We utilized Hotwires Hot Rate, booking a 4 star room in Columbus. The rate was fare at $150 +/-. However, the hotel also charged us for a full night plus a fee, totaling $165.00 I am familiar with hotels putting a nominal hold on my credit card, that will be released. But, $165 seems a bit ridiculous. I will never stay at a Sheraton again, but will continue to use Hotwire in the future.
