A wonderful stay . Right from entry to the hotel we had no issues . The staff are welcome, friendly and professional. We had double executive room booked as part of the Autumn getaway and the spacious room was spotless clean . Robes and slippers provided per person. The food was really good too and the car park which is located underground has a lift to the reception area . We based ourselves here for some retail therapy at Kildare Village outlets, and it's a 20 minute drive, which was perfect for us . We chilled in the hotel on the 2nd day having some lovely lunch in the bar and a stroll around Clane . Initially we were expecting the hotel to be maybe less attractive as it is vast ,but pleasantly surprised . We will return again without a doubt . Barbora in the restaurant should be commended she is a excellent waitress and also gave us plenty of advice in where to visit . The young man who manages ghe restaurant is efficenct and really looks after the customers. So all round a very enjoyable 2 nights away and already trying to pick another 2 days in Dcemeber to revisit. Well done to all at The Westgrove .

Embarrassing Experience After Booking Room
Reviewed 25 october, 2021
I booked a triple Room for My Son & his two female friends. They were having their debs at the Westgrove. I rang reception to confirm how many can fit in a room. I told Siobhan I was enquiring on behalf of my son who was attending the debs. I then went online and booked a triple room. When they arrived to check in they were told they will not give a room to the anyone attending the debs. They were turned away from reception with their bags in hand. How embarrassing was this for them, in front of their peers. I rang the hotel & spoke to Sean & Bonnie. They just kept repeating its Hotel policy. The hotel reserves its rights. Sorry but you cannot reserve UNLAWFUL policies. They said they informed the debs committee. That message was clearly not passed on. They told me the staff were told to tell anyone attending the debs that they could not book in. Siobhan did not mention this to me on the phone today. You are in breach of the equal status act, the discrimination act & the defamination act. You have judged him and embarrassed him in front of his Peers. You have not legally provided equal service or fair service. I am sad for them. You have marred their night. They are good kids. Just because they are 18 / 19 you have discriminated against them. I will be putting in a formal complaint tomorrow to the WRC.
Ignorant to the Covid rules

My wife and I were on holiday visiting my daughter who had booked a table for four. We are from the UK and have both been double vaccinated. We had downloaded the app showing the dates of our vaccines and we had paper copies just in case. We were however refused entry on the basis that he could not scan our online nhs app. My daughter had the official government web site open which clearly states that “you can use an official vaccination record issued by the country where you were vaccinated”. The young gentleman however knew it all and was adamant that he was right and took great pleasure to send us packing.

Lovely hotel, rooms are modern and bright. Enjoyed our stay there. Housekeeping were spot on.. 👍. Room looked slick and span after we returned from a morning walk. Not much atmosphere in the Bar, mainly I think due to the fact that it seems to be spread out over a huge area and merged into the restaurant too.. Receptionist when we checked in failed to point out the direction of the lift and where we should go for breakfast and evening meals, so we spent a couple of seconds wandering around in circles trying to find our way round. Food is delicious though and couldn’t fault it at all. All in all a lovely break away, .
