Worse Than You Can Imagine

Indifferent (sometimes rude) staff. Opposite of anything you could ask for. It's filthy from floor to ceiling. Every room has something that doesn't work: faucets, toilet, lights, etc. There are now so many other options in Cooke city and Silver Gate, there is no longer any reason to spend your money at this place. Oh, and don't eat at the bar/restaurant unless you like extra dirt and bacteria with your food.

Not sure who padded the earlier reviews before I booked this horrendous excuse for a hotel! Filthy is an understatement and in desperate need of fresh paint, new carpet (at least clean!) Just happened to be a busy time of year and we were traveling with a large group who fortunately were able to obtain lodging elsewhere. Last minute decision to continue on with the group resulted in this hotel stay. NEVER AGAIN! I will drive 8 hours to find lodging before ever staying there again!

Worn out and Filthy

Me and my family stopped in for lunch in September 2021 and this place isn't what it used to be. I'd give it a minus rating if I could. I cant imagine what the rooms must be like but the entrance, hallway and bathrooms are as bad as I've ever seen in a public restaurant/motel. When I say bad, I mean really bad. Travelers would be better off sleeping in their vehicle and eating crackers from the local gas station as opposed to stopping in at this place. A million dollar renovation, new management and a staff that cares about good food and cleanliness might bring this dump back to something but until then I'd recommend avoiding this place like the plague.

A filthy dump

We checked in, my family went across the street to have dinner. I went upstairs. On walking up the steps and down the hall to our room, 219, I noticed the carpet was absolutely filthy. Once in the room, I checked out the bathroom and what I saw almost made me vomit. The toilet had not ever been cleaned out. It was putrid. It was disgusting. I left went across the street to the restaurant and gave notice to my daughters we were leaving. Both daughters saw the room, went down to the desk to check out and get our money back. My daughter had put the room on her cc. The man refused to give her a credit, and only after we threatened to call the police, did he issue a credit, and then refused to give her a receipt. This place should be shut down

Soda Butte Lodge - Bar and Lobby were dirty can only imagine the rooms.! No help! Now owned by Foreigners. So sad!

Unclean, dirty lobby. Beautiful lodge on decline. Speak limited English. Can understand why there is no help. Hotel needs complete modernization. Sleeping here would be horrible. Years ago it was a Best Western and charming and clean!! Even 3 years ago it was clean then it was sold. No sad to see foreigners operating the lodge.
