Fairfield Inn Corbin

Rooms are outdated. WiFi is worthless. We came back from our day trip and our key didn’t work and room service never visited our room. The a/c didn’t cool the room. Pool was open but is very small. We won’t be back.

How this place received anything but bad reviews, I don’t know. It’s an old Fairfield that has never been updated. The television dates from the 90’s with a stand that only allowed it to sit at a sideways angle and had a picture that required squinting to bring it into focus. The old style wall mounted air/heater unit only blew cold air.....not good with the outside temperature at near freezing. The morning desk clerk was busy talking to a friend on the phone and refilling the coffee dispenser was disrupting her conversation. The Corona Virus breakfast consisted of only cereal that required everyone to crank the handle. The coffee cups were smaller than the lids making the journey to the room with 2 bowls of cereal and the coffee interesting. I’m not hard to satisfy but this place is a disaster and Marriott should delist it as one of its affiliates.

Having stayed at a number of Fairfield Inns over the years and a Bonvoy Elite member, I found this one to be disappointing at best. First, check-in staff was not masked, and no visible divider was used. That doesn't make me comfortable from the start. As for the room, other than the carpet that looked newer, the whole thing needs an overhaul. Stain on the ceiling, peeling wall (see photo), bathtub that needs an overhaul are the lowlights. The cable/TV was dark and there was no way it was HD (no matter what I adjusted). Finally, understanding the breakfast bar couldn't be opened, disappointed that at least something pre-packaged couldn't be given (muffing & apple?). Instead, they had the cereal tubes and a jug of milk. No thanks. And lastly, as departing, someone from staff sitting out front smoking. I'd look elsewhere for lodging.

Service was fine. Cranked air down but still felt damp and had a bit of odor...Ac Unit was very loud. Tv remote was weak and tv was not clear. Marriott needs to help this Fairfield. Room clean but dated.

Booked 2 nights through Priceline. Day 1 the guy working at the motel informed me that they had recently had 2 people staying at the hotel who were Covid-19 positive. I am not sure that is something that you should be telling your hotel guest and making them nervous. He also said that breakfast would be served the next morning we just had to eat it in our room or outside. This was understandable, however the next morning the only "breakfast items" were bananas and oranges. The juice machine was still running. I don't think that breakfast should be charged in total price if that is all they are currently offering. Day 2, the light in the bathroom stopped working and nobody had been in the room to clean or replace towels. My wife did finally go to the lobby and ask for towels. I honestly would have rather not had someone coming in touching stuff during this time, but they could have at least made sure we had clean towels. I doubt we will be back in the area again but I would look for a different place to stay if we did.
