Won’t be staying here again.

The list is long, so I’ll just name a few reasons that I will not return to this Extended Stay America. 1. Front desk NEVER answered the phone. 2. Check-in: No greeting, no instructions beyond telling me the elevator was broken. I had to ask where the stairs were. 3. No coffee anywhere (room or commons). No breakfast at all (breakfast was part of the reason I chose to stay there). I would have at least liked the muffins others mentioned in their reviews! And no warning there wasn’t going to be breakfast. I found out when I went down to look for it. 4. Bathroom light didn’t work. I told the front desk about it. She said ok. Didn’t ask what room. I offered that info and she again said ok. I wasn’t surprised that it didn’t get fixed. No one even offered a gesture of help. 5. Stairwell (remember, no elevators) trash cans overflowing (three days no change). Hallways lined with dog food and dirt entire stay...no change. 6. Although the sheets seemed clean and bed was neatly made, the rest of the room was just “yuck”. The kitchen sink was gross (see photo). I have no idea what was in the drain. I would overlook some of this for a $40 room, but $90/night? Nope. This was unacceptable. Even an older building like this can be kept clean and well managed. Staff was indifferent and unavailable. I visit Corpus often but I will never return to this establishment and will warn everyone I know about it.

Nothing seems to work

Reviewed 1 september, 2020

Here's a summary of our stay at the Extended Stay America in Corpus Christi. First, we had to take the sheets and pillow cases to the laundry and wash them before we could even sleep on them. They had an unpleasant smell and what appeared to be cat hair on them. My guess is there are pets roaming the area where "clean" bedding is kept. The mattress pad was stained as well but it can't be removed for some reason. So once we washed the sheets and pillow cases, the bed smelled fine. Second, we asked for some equipment for the kitchenette. We got 2 plates, 2 cups, 1 mixing spoon and 1 frying pan with decomposed nonstick coating flaking off. We had asked for a sauce pan to heat water for my french press. Didn't matter though because the electric range didn't work. Third, the electric range didn't work....oh yeah, I already said that. But it is important to note, a kitchenette isn't worth much if the range doesn't work. Fourth, we couldn't use the microwave because the ring with the wheels that support the rotisserie plate was missing. Had to borrow an electric teapot from my daughter to heat coffee water and make hard boiled eggs. Fifth, I had stopped at the front desk and asked for some hand towels, the clerk checked and said they didn't have any clean ones at the time, they were in the dryer and she'd bring some up as soon as they were dry. Never got the towels. Sixth, my credit card was double billed for our stay. I tried to call their national 877 number to dispute the charge but no one ever answers that number. I had to call the Corpus Christi hotel direct. And like the towels, I'm still waiting on that. Extended Stay America really needs to review the condition of their hotels. So the question of course would be, why not contact the front desk about these issues? When nearly everything is a problem, what do you do? Obviously, those charged with making sure the room is ready for the next guest are not doing their job and if they aren't doing in our room, why would I assume another room is any better. So for $7 more than Extended Stay America's weekend rate, on our next trip we stayed at another hotel that didn't have a kitchenette, but did have a mini fridge, a functioning microwave and a Keureg....and clean sheets.

Lazy staff.

Stayed for 6 weeks. In that time 2 of 3 the side entrance doors broke. No effort was made to repair them. The desk and housekeeping staff are incompetent. They either don’t care about doing a decent job, or are clueless to how poorly they serve their customers. Avoid this place at all costs.
