Prob won’t stay here again unless no other option

Reviewed 18 june, 2022

Staff friendly, breakfast plenty of choices and good. Good parking options. Room had much to be desired, but bathroom was clean. 2nd floor room. The hallway and room did not smell fresh. We don’t smoke and there was a stale cigarette smell to room. This alone made it feel not so homey. Plus, our thermostat was set to 60 degrees and it was freezing when we entered the room! But there was more: carpet had a rip in it, fold out bed had no bedding and not clean underneath. Only a bedspread on one of the queen beds. Other one just had sheets. Window shade was supposed to be motorized, but instead was pulled all the way down and broken at the top so shade couldn’t go up at all. Fire alarm hanging off the wall. Then from midnite to 4am there were very loud people in the hallway laughing and talking and could hear little kids laughing and running around. At one point sounded like people arguing. Was woken up quite often and I’m usually a pretty heavy sleeper. Honestly couldn’t wait for morning to come so we could leave!

BIRTHDAY WEEKEND CELEBRATION WITH FRIENDS.

Reviewed 18 april, 2022

Two friends and I travelled ( 5 hour drive) to the area for my birthday weekend celebration (April 8-10, 2022) along with the Bluebonnet Trails & 70th Annual Bluebonnet Festival in Ennis. We were excited to see the Bluebonnets, something we had never done before. Our room 309 was large in size and very clean until one of my friends opened the sofa bed to find what looked to be a large blood stain on the corner of the mattress and also what appeared to be mold. My friend decided she would just sleep on the cushions on the sofa. There was no bedding for the sofa. Had to go downstairs to get the linens that had just came out of the dryer and there was no blankets available. The next night my friend decided to stay somewhere else so she didn't have to sleep on "that" sofa. The first night we were 3 adults in the room with only one towel and two wash clothes the second night no towels or wash clothes. Again I had to go downstairs to get towels and wash clothes and again they were just taking them out of the dryer. Guess they are short on staff so the desk clerks are having to do laundry along with their duty at the front desk. Breakfast was hot and pretty good for your average "continental" breakfast. The lady working in the breakfast area did a great job keeping everything full and plentiful. Wasn't able to use the pool or spa due to some sort of ball tournament so the pool and spa was always overcrowded with kids. They couldn't keep up with the demand for linens, towels and wash clothes. Our room was located near the elevator. I was surprised it wasn't noisy by the elevator considering the large gap under our room door. When checking out I mentioned to the man at the desk, assuming he was the manager, about the sofa bed. He kept talking to me as to say stop talking I heard you about the sofa bed. Guess he didn't want any other guest to hear me talking about it. I had mentioned it to the night clerk the night before who stated she would make a note of it. However the beds were very comfortable and the stay wasn't bad. Not sure I'll stay there again if I'm ever in the area. Will probably add to the bottom of my list of places to stay in Corsicana. Wish I would've taken a picture of the sofa and the mattress to post on here. Hopefully they address the issue.

Stay somewhere else.

This was the worst Holiday Inn Express we have ever stayed in. We were in Corsicana for an event and booked two rooms for an overnight stay. Upon arrival one of the rooms had an issue with the television not working. We tried calling the front desk but the telephone in the room didn’t work. I went down to the desk to inform them of this issue and the desk clerk came back up to the room and confirmed the issue. She told me they did not have a comparable room open but she would check with the manager and upgrade us to different room. After we gathered our things and went back downstairs to the desk, the clerk informed us the manager would not upgrade us but they had found another king room open. That was fine and I had no issues. We then went to our new room and it appeared to be ok until very early the next morning ( about 4:30) when a aeries of thunderstorms moved in and I heard some noise sounding like water running. After I awoke later I found the window was leaking and water was coming in the room soaking the carpet. Luckily none of belongings were near the window. When checking out I informed the manager of the issues and she refused to even acknowledge there was a problem. The manager then took my room keys and never even said a thank you for staying or anything. This is not the best run Holiday Inn Express.

A pleasant surprise on I45

Reviewed 8 october, 2021

My son and I were passing through on our way to Houston. We stopped in Corsicana for the night and stayed at the Holiday Inn. We were pleasantly surprised by the little things like the cold room temperature, shower pressure, breakfast selection, clean rooms, comfy beds, a well lit parking lot, etc If you’re passing through this way, I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Corsicana.

Very Disappointed

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Corsicana for 5 days.we were excited that it had a Keurig, as we brought our coffee pods. It had a mini fridge, and a microwave as well. Our joy turned into frustration. On the first day, we unpacked all our stuff. We decided to make the sofa sleeper bed out and as we pulled it out, there were a couple of crayons and bits of junk underneath. Yuck! The cushions were not very clean either. Also, our tv didn’t work. The breakfast was a small bag. The next day we heard a noise and noticed it was leaking from the roof onto one of the beds, as we were on the top (4th) floor. It had been raining. We told the front desk and finally the maintenance man came and temporarily repaired it. He fixed the tv for us too, yea! A couple days later, we asked for bath towels and they didn’t have any available for 2 days!! We were told every that the housekeeping staff had left them in the washer and left. People kept using them for the pool and housekeeping couldn’t keep up Washing and drying them all. I think the housekeeping staff were not that good. They did not vacuum around one of the beds. One night our toilet stopped up and they did not have a maintenance man at that time, nor a plunger! The girl at the front desk found a person to call and brought their personal plunger for us to unstop it. Wow! Needless to say, we were not pleased with our stay.
