BEWARE PARKING SCAM
Reviewed 21 november, 2021
You're faced with a barrier to enter the carpark. It opens automatically as you get close to it so you don't stop. Parking in the hotel carpark, you then walk to reception. Walking through the doors, you have reception in front of you to your left, immediately entering. There as a work function, my room was already booked. I was asked for my details to get my room allocation. They also asked for my car registration. After writing my car details and signing, I got my room key and pointing in the direction of my room. I stayed the night. Leaving in the morning, I handed in my room key, got in my car, drove towards the exit which opened as I reached it. I left. Several days later, a £60 parking fine dropped in my letterbox from a company called Parking Eye, the notorious parking bandit company raking in millions through fines. I hadn't paid and ignored all the signs was their reason for the fine. Of course I appealed. I said there were no signs, neither visible in the carpark or when I entered the building, that I entered and left the car park without hindrance, that the staff took my car details. I lost the appeal, fine paid with anger and disbelief. So here's a warning to anyone staying in this hotel: beware the parking scam, where your details are taken by reception, where there are no clear and visible signs to pay when you are entering the building, and where there are no clear and visible signs entering, parking, or leaving the carpark. Hotel management: you can claim as much signage as you want, you can't see a way to pay when you walk towards reception nor are you challenged at any point by barriers to pay. You can't see a way to pay leaving the hotel either. Why do your staff take the time to register your car details and not say anything about parking charges? I won't be staying here again, business or pleasure. You are enabling a a private firm to extort fines.from your guests. Fix the problem with your signage and staff training on parking.

Stayed here for a reunion and staff were amazing. One of our party could only drink 0% beer and as they were low on stock, James (behind the bar) went to Aldi, bought some especially for us with no charge. Thank you all so much and look forward to our next reunion in March 2022
A Very Good Stay

A very good stay when we were at an exhibition at the Coventry football ground. Very good service throughout as we came out of covid, attention to detail. Breakfast was very good, parking onsite was fine, just off the M6 motorway so good access.
One night stay October 2021

We booked 2 rooms (as a family of 5) and were allocated rooms on different floors at check-in. We asked for them to be closer and were given rooms on the same floor in reasonable proximity. Maybe no adjoining rooms were available, but why not give us rooms close to each other to begin with? I've seen this rated as a four star hotel, but that's a stretch. You get those abominable soap and shampoo dispensers (like I would expect in a Premier Inn). At a four star hotel I expect toiletries. There was also no information book in the room. The bathroom had been recently tiled, which was nice, but the original bathroom door must have been retained, because it was shabby. The hot water needed to run for a couple of minutes to heat up and the water pressure was pathetic. The shower was a trickle. Otherwise the bedroom was ok, clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the wi-fi was free, We went out in Coventry for dinner, so don't know if the food is any good and the breakfast was super expensive - we went out to a local cafe instead. All in all nothing terrible, but definitely could do better.
Terrible Event's Team
Reviewed 22 october, 2021
We hosted an event recently, which went well due to the food and beverage team but their events' team is a nightmare to deal with. On one occasion, I was told by their Hotel Operations Manager that they can't host our event, only because she was annoyed by us for ringing them and trying to finalise the event. I sent my complaint to Keith Barr (CEO) and Velour Group who resolved the issues and the event went well, thanks to the chef, the duty manager, Jackie, Jordan and their team. I called them back for another event I want to book, and I mistakenly thought I could call the events' team again. A rude lady who is the Events Manager told me that I need to ring the Execs team again like before who will deal with me. When I finally received a quote on costs from them, the prices seem to have changed drastically within a month since my first call with Natalie. I definitely would not recommend the events' team. Extremely rude and uncourteous, and lack basic mannerism.
