More about the hotel
No COVID safety that we could see
If you are looking for a place that takes COVID19 seriously this is not for you. Masks are recommended not mandatory says sign on the door despite state mask mandate. Staff not wearing masks at check in or attending to breakfast buffet. Large groups lounging in lobby not wearing masks. Tables in breakfast area definitely not 6 feet a part. Most guests not wearing masks. No signs of any extra cleaning that we could see. Pool capacity was not enforced that we could see. Wasn't expecting a hospital setting but definitely didn't feel comfortable with the lack of any visible COVID precautions.
Great Customer Service and Accomodations
I had a large group for our local snowmobile club to book at the hotel. Approximately 15-20 rooms. I emailed Crystal Glaser, the Director of Sales and Marketing. The rooms we needed were mostly suites. She accommodated our every need. And she was very patient with me as we exchanged probably around 30 emails. We had an issue with a family of 5 in the club that wanted to book the kiddie suite but was told it wasn't pet friendly, so she then asked the front desk associate if they had 2 adjoining queen rooms that were pet friendly that she could book and again was told no. I contacted Crystal and asked if there was any rooms that they could book for the whole family that were pet friendly (for a miniature Chihuahua) and she responded to my email immediately and was able to get rooms for them. Crystal has been absolutely amazing to work with for such a large group. Even on weekends she responds to emails immediately. And I never expected any response other that a Monday-Friday business hours. But I can guarantee she went out of her way, outside of her work hours to assist us with our needs. We haven't even stayed at the hotel yet. But I would absolutely stay here again. And I'm sure our snowmobile club will be booking more trips with the Whitefish Hotel in the future. Crystal Glaser, you are amazing and I hope corporate recognizes you for that! I would also like to thank Kate, the front desk manager for helping with the pet friendly room. I will update more after the stay.
Great place to stay in Crosslake
Have stayed here a number of times before and been very satisfied. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Will stay here again. Good location. The noise level was very good. The breakfast they provided was better than most other hotels you providing at this time.
Be Aware!
Wedding guests take priority!! My husband and I stayed 3 nights for a getaway to relax and be refreshed. Saturday a wedding party arrived: We were no longer guests, but onlookers in our hotel room: Dogs barked constantly and scratched at their doors near our room while guests attended the wedding, the parking lot filled to overflowing and we could not find a place to park, the front entrance was marked, "Wedding guest only during the ceremony"-other hotel guests had to use side entrances, the pool was marked, "No Public use after 3:00". We wanted to pack and leave but could not as our snowmobile trailer was blocked in by wedding guests' cars. They moved us to another room, but this also had barking dogs that we heard through the walls. We were not informed of this event taking place during our stay until the wedding was upon us. We talked to management once, regarding this unfortunate set of circumstances. They offered another nights stay for a future date, but could not guarantee that dogs would not be near our room as they are a "Pet Friendly" facility. We were told pet owners were responsible to keep their dogs quiet: this was not the case and we were left paying for our room regardless of the inconvenience and frustration and sleepless night we had due to this wedding. We were told weddings are a common occurrence on weekends. I have attempted 3 further, unsuccessful times to reach management through phone calls and emails. They have ignored any further follow-up with me to resolve our complaint.
Great Customer Service & Accommodations!
We had a total of 4 rooms and for all this was our first stay here but won't be the last! We have family living in this area so we will be back!! The kids loved the pools (a regular sized one and a kiddie pool) and the adults appreciated the hot tub (in January!). Kendra at the front desk was especially helpful at checkout!!
