Nice Hotel Lousy City

Our room was quite satisfactory. We were the only ones in the place so we ordered from the menu for a very good selection for breakfast. Quiet location behind walls with a secure buzz entry. But in a very hectic, dirty, section of simple shops and dreadful traffic and air quality. But that could be said about Cuernavaca in general. The most overrated town of the dozen we have visited in Mexico. La Casa Azul made it bearable, and they are fine people. Thanks folks.
Great, but then a bad experience tainted it

I like the hotel, it is quaint , the service is good, location is good, and restaurant is not bad. It is not the run of the mill hotel, and the value is good. My companion loved the spa. I would give it 4 stars if i did not have a bad experience. When i checked out they did not retuen my credit card. I wrote 2 emails, no response Then we called, and they said they had it and they would send it to me in Colombia, just send my address when i got home, I did , again no response for 2 days and 2 emails. After they did respond thay said i had to pay the expensive FexEx. Beyond that I would have to deactivate the card, which made sending it stupid. They said they would destroy the card and send me the photo, When they sent the photo it was barely cut, you could read the number, the name everything. Many more emails before they responded to my many emails asking for more complete destruction. Experience was frustrating and unfair because they were more at fault for the incident.
DON`T BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE ON THEIR WEBPAGE

Rooms are classified as LUXURY, but they have no idea what this concept means. Accommodations were MEDIOCRE AT BEST. the so-called GARDENS are one big patio with plants crowded, and distributed in a very plain manner.

Relaxing, lovely and elegant hotel with wonderful staff

We were shocked at the level of lovely details of the property, especially the local Mexican art in the rooms. It was incredibly relaxing and quiet. The pool was beautiful as were the grounds--which were highly representative of Cuernavaca's art and vegetation (it's not called the "City of Eternal Spring" for nothing!). We came in rushed for a funeral, two children and three adults. The staff got us together some delicious and quick food as we headed to the funeral parlor and were kind to my young kids to boot. The breakfast menu was delicious, and we liked the coffee. It is Mexico, so I do not expect the staff to run (but they sure did when they knew where we were headed the night of our arrival). I had misread the details of my Expedia reservation and tried to argue about our price. I was wrong about the details (this was NOT the hotel's fault) and they handled this grieving person so kindly, even returning a phone charger I had left in the room. I am grateful for their kindness and professionalism and having this respite of a place amidst our sudden grief. You won't be disappointed if you book here--one of the more unique hotels in Mexico proudly displaying Mexican art and design.
Another wonderful stay at Casa Azul

Highly recommend, the service is excellent is my 6th time staying at this hotel and the quality is still the same simple spotless. The rooms are charming full of character and tastefully designed individually. A true hidden gem in Cuernavaca to unwind relax, and feel at home. Very safe hotel is a quiet safe compound in the heart of downtown Cuernavaca. Will be back soon. It is worth every penny, reasonable priced compared with the overrated famous Mañananitas in my opion Casa Azul is very similar for a decent price.
