Hotel D'Luca

We had 2 nights here en route to the Amazon and another on the way back. The rooms were OK but a bit tired-looking. The first time we stayed, our room had a king size bed and a single. In order to squeeze in the the single bed in, the king had been pushed up against the wall. Neither of us wanted to be up against the wall so we slept separately. Both beds were comfortable but the sheets on both were too small and couldn't be properly tucked in at the sides or top or bottom so during the night they bunched up uncomfortably in the middle of the beds. Why do hotels do this? I wouldn't have thought they would save much money but it certainly gives a negative impression. For our second stay the room was bigger and there was room all the way around the bed. The food in the restaurant was OK but we had to ask far menu in English. The breakfast was the usual fare. The big disappointment was that the restaurant doesn't open on Sundays so we were left without an option for eating. Reception gave me a menu for a local takeaway (Deck avenida) who deliver but in the end we went there to eat. I have travelled extensively and have never before come across a hotel that closes its restaurant on any day of the week. Otherwise the hotel was fine for a quick stopover but I wouldn't want stay much longer.

I stayed here two nights, bookending a trip to the Pantanal. Rooms are a good size. Clean and bright. Good WiFi and AC. Staff very friendly although not a lot of English as is common in Brazil. Breakfast is really good. Plenty of fresh fruit, bread and cakes. Cereals, eggs and sausage. Really enjoyed it and breakfast starts at 6 for those with an early start. I had decided that the location was not the best in Cuiaba. However on walking around I’m not sure there are too many pretty areas. Monument for centre of South America is about 20 minutes walk but not very exciting anyway!

Reasonably priced and perfect for a short stay on way to the Pantanal. Rooms are relatively basic but clean with good air-conditioning and breakfast. English is also spoken which seems very rare in Brazil.

We stayed one night at Hotel D'Luca. During our brief stay we found the hotel to be clean and adequate for our basic needs. The room had air conditioning and a nice shower. The breakfast buffet was very nice with hot foods as well as a range of breads, pastries, fruit, and other items. The hotel is apparently near the center of town, though in the after dark arrival it was difficult to tell. For a stopping off location for the Pantanal the Hotel D'Luca was quite nice.

We stayed for two nights after our tour in the Pantanal. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, beds are comfortable and the bathroom is amazing. The breakfast buffet had everything we could´ve wished for and everything was delicious. Definitely recommend!
