Convenience Plus!

Reviewed 23 october, 2021

The location couldn’t be better for a Gettysburg overnight. The rooms are spacious and clean as was the lobby and common areas. The only disappointment was the “breakfast”...which failed on several levels. Although packets of oatmeal were available there was no cereal or milk for either. Coffee needed a cream or half and half option. No eggs, sausage, or even a prepackaged breakfast sandwich. Minutes from the Battlefields and Cemetery and the restaurant at the bottom of the parking lot has the best broasted chicken ever!

Disappointed

Reviewed 20 october, 2021

We had previously stayed at this property and upon seeing that they advertised as "Newly Remodeled" we were hopeful, the remodeling seemed to have been in the lobby/breakfast room and new carpeting. In our room the bathroom floor had a build up of dirt in along the tub/floor joint, the sink stopper was not hooked up to the operating handle, the sink overflow was very dirty (look in the mirror at many properties and you will notice the same thing), the sink drained very slowly and the florescent light didn't always come on and had a flicker to it when it did. The toilet seat had the finish worn off around the edges. The a/c unit was not properly seated against the wall and we were able to see to the outside. This property also advertises "hot breakfast", the only thing hot would have been the coffee and whatever popped out of the toaster. I would have at least expected cereal and milk but there was no cereal and the milk machine had a note on it that it was out of order. Since we were staying multiple nights we found a note under our door stating that there would be no housekeeping, which is understandable during this time, however it would have been nice to be informed of this upon check-in. We observed the housekeeping staff yelling at each other in the hallway. I managed a preventative maintenance program for a major manufacturer for many years and know what it takes to keep up on cleaning/maintenance and it appears that this property needs to evaluate it's processes.

Mold and disrepair

Reviewed 17 october, 2021

The vent to the air conditioner was half off and we could see the interior was covered with mold. The air filters in the AC had thick dust on them - hadn’t been replaced in a long time. We were given a different room and the vents of the AC also held mold. I used a wet cloth to try to remove the mold that was visible. The paint in the bottom of the pool was chipped and peeling, the concrete steps to the second floor had lots of paint missing and two huge carpet rolls were right by the emergency exit. The “full” breakfast was little more than toast and yogurt.

The staff was helpful and friendly, The hotel on the other hand was not worth the $$. Yes it was close to sites but not really walking distance. Also the pool was freezing cold, the breakfast horrible! No peanut butter milk or cereal. Of course no eggs except hard boiled. We have been to other comfort inns during the pandemic and they at least served a hot bagged breakfast still following the pandemic protocol. Wi-Fi very sparse.

Nice Three Day Weekend

Reviewed 10 october, 2021

Greeted late at night by very nice staff. Room was extremely clean. (No problems at all - all areas of this hotel were clean). Staff told us at check in that there would not be in room housekeeping and that we could leave towels and garbage in hallway and could pick up additional towels and items at front desk. This was reinforces with a letter. It was not a problem. We read reviews and were aware of the breakfast situation. While this is not the norm, we have seen other hotels in PA provide this type of limited breakfast due to Covid. Breakfast was ok. I had toast and juice. I heard a lady say that there was French toast in the bread container that could be heated up. Maybe people would be more satisfied with better labeling or a few more options, I don’t know. Everything else was good. The hotel is within walking distance to town (or you can drive). We really enjoyed walking to town and walking around. We thought it was going to be a little out of the way but it was not. It was also nice to be right across from the battlefield. We would definitely stay here again.
