Great hotel for Cuzco center
Reviewed 12 may, 2022
We were recommended to this hotel by Alpaca Expeditions. So glad they did. They really tried hard to help us with our needs, which can be extensive for Inca Trail travellers. Great staff and amenities for a great price. Clean, well taken care of and centrally located, all for a great price.

My partner and I visited Peru in October 2019. The Terra Andina hotel was fabulous we booked in for five nights and we’re not disappointed. It is colonial therefore don’t expect five star luxury however we found it very comfortable, clean and overall the staff are very welcoming. It is centrally located however located on a hill. We are great walkers therefore did not have to use public transport but if you do it is not far to the bus station.

Very nice staff, great location but good luck sleeping!!

About half of the bedrooms open directly onto the dining room which also has a huge skylight. Becasue of this, and the use of thin glass and materials that amplifying sounds (hard tiles and stone) and the fact that breakfast opens at 3am daily, it is virtually impossible to sleep in many of their rooms. Also, the blinds in the rooms do not block teh bright sunlight pouring in glass ceiling above this noisy dinning room. My family and I left this hotel all extremely exhausted after days of sightseeing and very little sleep. When we complained the lady at the front desk scorned us and treated us quite disrespectfully. I was shocked. But she was the only disagreeable staf/ all others were excellent, Honestly though, if a hotel cannot let you sleep, how can they charge such fees? When they moved us from one room right outside the loud clanging of plates and forks and glasses every 3am breakfast, we were put to another room still facing directly onto the very bright and noisy dinning areas but also right outside a staff meeting room which was constantly filled with loud conversations that went through our door like tissue paper - again, could not sleep. We got up several times out of bed to "shhush" them, but they would not learn and so we could not sleep .

Good staff but cold and very noisy, can’t sleep

Stayed for three nights in two rooms in December, with a night in Machu Picchu in between. Pros - Friendly and accommodating staff - Washrooms are renovated and quite nice - King beds in the rooms - Ten minute walk from Plaza de Armas However, the pros are irrelevant since: Cons - The rooms are very cold. The heaters they have in each room are useless. They do not heat up the room at all. I came in healthy and left with a cough. - The rooms are NOISY. On nights we tried to sleep in (2 out of the 3 we spent at the hotel) we were woken up by 5:30am. The pipes are noisy, you can hear cars out in the street, and above all, there is a lot of noise coming from the inner courtyard, which is a restaurant and starts serving at 5.00am. You can hear everything, from people talking to cutlery on the plates. My gf, who is a heavy sleeper, also had this issue. The building is not noise proof at all and you can not sleep past 5.00 or 5.30. Went through different reviews and many have complained of the same problem. In one review, the hotel acknowledges this problem and said they’re working with the best glass company in Peru to noise proof it. That review was from 2009.

Excellent suite style, very luxurious and comfortable. Great variety of meals. The staff is amazingly kind and resourceful. Highly recommended, located in the heart of Cusco, close to the public market, plazas and churches, you can walk from the hotel to main amenities and attractions or use local transportation.
