It will do in a pinch
For my family this was an overnight stop and (with points) was a good value. The fridge in our room was helpful, beds good enough and the shower pressure was nice. The balcony was more of a "step out" balcony; we couldn't sit out. I'm glad I didn't pay extra for it. We could walk to the mall and the restaurant attached to the hotel was a bonus. The hotel appears to be used as a longer term accommodation for people working in the area. There was an abnormally large number of service-style vans and trucks in the parking lot. It was noisy, lots of bangs/clangs from outside and we could hear someone peeing in the room above. The room looks good on the surface and seems clean but if you inspect closely, you will find some imperfections. Masks appear to be optional at this location. I hardly saw any guests wearing them. We didn't have breakfast, it's served in the small lobby and was quite congested with people walking about without a mask. Three people were in line waiting for food and none of them were wearing masks either. I would rate this hotel as "good enough" on my personal scale. If you're standards are higher than mine and you need to see better adherence to current safety guidelines then you may not be happy with this choice. When next in the area, even for one overnight, I'll probably try another hotel unless I get a great deal.
Top hotel/ restaurant
On the cusp of the pandemic, this Comfort Inn — and others in Virginia and N. Carolina — went out of their way to take care of us while on the road. No hot breakfast for health reasons, but several took food orders at night and prepared bag of goodies for the next morning. The Comfort Inn in Danville has an excellent attached Mexican restaurant; great food and gracious staff working under difficult conditions. Highly recommended.
Great Hotel in My Hometown
I grew up in Danville but no longer am able to stay with relatives due to being mobility-challenged. I had to go home for a family funeral and chose to stay at the Comfort Inn. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and my handicapped-accessible room was spacious. I could maneuver my mobility scooter freely around the room and into the bathroom, and a bonus was the great view of the high school from which I graduated many years ago. The bed was about as comfortable as I have ever experienced. The only challenge I had was that the shower had a shower chair, but the side of the tub was as high as a regular tub so that I couldn't get into it. Nevertheless, I will stay here again whenever I return to Danville.
Very Nice Surprise
We went to Danville for a last minute family event. Needed a place that was pet friendly and booked the Danville Comfort Inn online. It's a GREAT place! We had a room with it's own door to the outside. The room was spacious updated and clean. Plenty of places to walk our dog, plus the doggie bag dispenser was full of bags. Restaurants are within walking distance, plus the mall is adjoining the hotel. We were very happy with everything about this hotel and would stay there again.
Still very, very good; friendly with good location
I keep going back on annual visits because of quality and location. Although we have lost track of the number of years, nothing about Comfort Inn & Suites has ever fallen short. I like the location away from the highway in what feels like a more secure area. Rooms and breakfast are always good; staff is always friendly and welcoming.
