We found Beechwood on Dartmoor at the very last minute as the room we had booked elsewhere was appalling. And are we so glad we did . What a gem of a place , great room , clean ,tidy ,and the most accommodating hosts you could wish for in Ian and Sarah . A midweek break in the most fantastic location in the heart of Dartmoor. Lovely breakfast , even catering for me being coeliac at short notice . Cannot recommend highly enough for rescuing our break, saviours. Thank you both .
Lovely location, awesome breakfast!

Stayed here as dropping daughter at University and needed a dog friendly place. In the end, the car was so full of her stuff, the dog had to stay home (with relatives!). Location is perfect if you are a hiker or a casual walker. Surrounded by moorland. Breakfast, one of the best Ive ever had. Didn t need lunch that day! If I was being picky, a Wi-Fi booster to cover the rooms would be a good idea, as I couldnt even get a signal. Not a problem for me but our other teen struggled with no phone even for a few hours (some would say thats a good thing!) Totally recommend this B&B for a week long stay or just a night away
Beechwood on Dartmoor - WOW

We were let down by previous holiday providers at the last minute after several years of returning to them - Their loss. So on the blower to Sarah and Ian - all sorted. The minute we walked in the door - it was 'homely'. Felt so welcome. The rooms are tastefully decorated and all amenities catered for. The grounds are amazing - aside from the garden there are also meadows to explore. Perfect for the nature/photography enthusiast. The water is 'tasty' as it comes from their own well, so no flouride additives etc. Each downpipe has a waterbutt. They are aiming for sustainability. From the menu, we only had cooked breakfast as out most of day, but thank you Ian for a delicious and very filling start to the day. The banter was so funny, so relaxed. Ian breaking into song at every opportunity, Sarah looking 'skywards'. Have to admit Sarah told me not to encourage Ian - sorry, hun - couldn't help it. But seriously, if you want a break away from the hum drum of life and just switch off, we didn't once put on tv or use our mobiles. Good old fashioned chin wag/chat was what we did. If happy with that, then this is the break for you. So much to explore, so much to give. WE WILL BE BACK - it's our first stop country retreat. Thank you so much Ian and Sarah for sharing your loving home with us. Great catch up with too. Thoroughly recommended. Will think about your request for 'greener' ways. Looking into a couple of options.
Very good value

Stayed here recently whilst walking on Dartmoor. Really useful and accurate website describes it well. Room small but comfortable- the most difficult thing was working out how to turn the shower on! Lovely setting but the weather whilst we were there was not conducive to wandering the garden. There is a pub a short walk down the road where we had a drink before eating back at Beechwood. Three course home made meal for £20 excellent value and some very nice wine at less than half the price of any restaurant. Breakfast was very good with loads of choice of cereals, hot food etc. Very friendly hosts. Good stuff!
Ride out for Rabbit pie

Good B and B ,comfortable night, good breakfast, nice host, all in all a nice experience. Can't say fairer than that. Take a stroll down the road to the post bridge and the village. The Warren inn is not close, a fair walk so rode there and back.
