From the moment I step into the main lobby, I was greeted with friendly staff. Ms Crystal, Ms April, Ms Twanna, and Ms Cassie. Very professional and I felt welcomed doing my stay. My room exceed my expectations and the complimentary breakfast was excellent. The entire property is very clean and security at night is good. My next visit to Detroit I will be staying here.

They don’t reserve your room, and then charge you double.

Don’t stay here! I had reserved a room about a month in advance. It was a suite, so it had three beds. I arrive to find that they had given my room to someone else. So the brand new front desk agent Geoffrey said he would give us 3 separate rooms at no additional charge. I asked him about it because it sounded too good too be true. He said it would not be any additional charge. So I was billed for the amount of 1 suite. Well apparently, they had charged my credit card a few days before I checked in, so I didn’t even notice it. So when I received my credit card statement the next month, I noticed I was double charged. So I called Holliday Inn. They never got back to me. I filed a dispute with my credit card. Holiday Inn came up with a lie about how I didn’t want my original room and asked for 3 separate rooms. Well this was not the case. I was told by the front desk agent Geoffrey that the room I had reserved was given out to someone else. The room the other person was supposed to have was having a problem with the door lock. This is unacceptable. These people are a joke. I am out $200 because of this garbage. I would strongly recommend people stay away from this hotel.

This hotel was very clean and modern. I loved my room, it was very comfortable. There were not a lot of quality restaurants nearby or conveniences but I don't have any complaints about the hotel itself. I will probably not stay here again because of the location which is sad, because I really loved the hotel.

We were fortunate enough to visit the Henry Ford a few weeks ago. Being experienced travelers we wanted a hotel nearby that was clean and homey. We knew we hit the jackpot the minute we pulled into the freshly paved parking lot and saw the neatly manicured shrubbery. It is located minutes from the highway and approx a 10 min drive from the Henry Ford. At the front desk we were greeted with a welcome smile from Moe. He was able to provide us with rooms next to our travel partners. Moe answered all our questions and directed us to an excellent meal choice nearby. The hotel is only a few months old so everything is sparkling! Our room was large and equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast which was included was warm and tasty with many choices. Upon checkout we were able to meet Kristy the hotel manager. Happily we were able to assure her that she and her staff are doing everything right to make a travelers experience a good one. We will definitely be back to stay in the near future. There is so much the area has to offer and we didn’t visit long enough!

The Hotel Tried But Failed

Cons: the hotel check in system is a total disaster. Made arrangements for 3 rooms, however, the IHG/Holiday Inn reservation system was down. Called and finally got through to someone at the reservation desk. Told them I needed 3 rooms but each couple was paying or their own room. Was told that was no problem; upon check in each couple could use their own credit card. Know what? The hotel charged all 3 rooms to my credit card. It took an Act of God to straighten things out; and a week for the total card on my credit card to be taken off. The front desk agent (Moe) was lacking training as he had to get the GM (Kristy) several time to get things corrected. In addition each room/couple was charged a $100 deposit. I have never been charged a deposit at any IHG hotel. The credit took 5 days to appear on my credit card. The room also had issues: broken blind chains, a broken toilet seat, and a TV system that did not get any sports channels, in particular, the Detroit Tiger ball game. It was also very loud at night. Pros: the breakfast was good, the room and grounds were clean, nice bedding and sheets, the staff friendly., and a short distance to Greenfield Village. The check in process was a disaster, however.
