Pros -centrally located and decent rates -very very friendly bar tender (Rob) Cons- -unfriendly front desk (day and evening)- did not even acknowledge me as Honors for over 35 years! -no water in the room -no housekeeping. When inquired, they said I had to request it 24 hours. How about asking me when I check in. Terrible service! -I had called the morning I travelled asking if restaurant would be open when I arrived around 9:00 pm and person said yes until 11 pm. I arrived at 9:15 and they said they sent the chef home. Terrible service. -

My fiancé and I flew from Orlando to Denver for a concert, we checked into a hotel in Golden CO the night we arrived, to my horrid the hotel was a nightmare so we decided to checkout, I booked us 3 night at Hilton Garden Inn in Downtown Denver the last minute and was not disappointed, the staffs was friendly and helpful, our room was beautiful and clean. We got engaged while out hiking at Red Rocks we shared our news to the front desk and they offered us a mini bottle of champagne and complimentary breakfast and drinks. Thank you for making our stay a lovely experience and we’ll definitely be back soon.

I enjoyed my stay at the HGI Denver Downtown. The front desk staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. I opted not to have housekeeping, so they offered me extra amenities to keep me comfortable during my stay. The room was clean and had plenty of towels/washcloths for just me. I checked the bed to make sure it was clean and bug free and it was! I could actually slightly smell bleach which always makes me happy knowing the sheets are clean. No issues with the TV or coffee maker in my room. I will say the mini fridge was quite loud, but that could easily be fixed as I think it just may need to be secured a little tighter in its spot to get the vibration noise to stop. I would definitely stay here again. I did not have to use the parking as I didn't have a car, however the parking is secured behind a key-entry gate, which seemed very safe.
Poor communication and lack of customer care

Checked into our room at around 4pm and noticed that the A/C was set to 69 degrees but the room was at 76 degrees. Turned the thermostat a few degrees lower to see if the A/C would kick on and did not. I informed staff who said they would send maintenance up to look at it. Returned to the room late and found the room at 75 degrees. Called the front desk, who state they have no rooms to switch us out, so we requested a fan and opened the window the 4 inches it opens and attempted to sleep in a warm room with downtown noise. In the morning attempted to contact a manager to no avail. More disappointed there was no communication to us that problem could not be fixed or had not been fixed and the price we paid for the night was steep. Poor communication from staff and lack of care for customers makes this hotel less desirable to stay at.

The hotel overall was clean and quiet. Staff were polite and helpful. I was kind of surprised that they don't clean the rooms during the stay, but thats fine. The ONLY reason I give it 3 stars is because of specifically the bathroom. The main issue I experienced was that the water would go from very hot to very cold. There was no inbetween. It was difficult to get a comfortable tempature and almost no matter how I adjusted the knob, it was scalding or freezing. The other bathroom issue was a convenience matter. The toilet paper was very far away from the toilet. It was a full extended left arm reach when I'm right handed. The beds were comfortable and clean. Everything else functioned in the room. I would stay again, but not for the price that I paid this time. Id rather look elsewhere.
