More about the hotel
I was sad to have to leave this place.
Our room was like a nicely put together apartment. We had been traveling across the country, in and out of hotels, and this one was the most relaxing experience. Excellent layout. Super functional. Comfortable bed and pillows. Spacious throughout. If I could give 10 stars, I would.
Great location, rooms, and value
When I walked into my room, I was surprised at how clean, modern, and thoughtful it was, until I learned that the hotel was built less than two years ago. Best things about this hotel: - thoughtful room design - plenty of outlets - large desk space - clean halls, rooms, and grounds - pool is large enough to swim laps in - excellent front desk service Sarah M at front desk was always helpful and friendly despite being busy, and the one time I had an extra housekeeping request, housekeeper came to my room with the extra item in less than five minutes. I 100% recommend staying here if you're doing business or need a getaway in West County.
A little disappointed
This is a newer Marriott Residence Inn, so things like hallway rugs and walls are basically clean. The bed was uncommonly comfortable, the room was well furnished, and there were plenty of charging stations. Extremely loud air conditioning, but otherwise the room was very quiet. My room, however, left doubt about cleanliness -- a refrigerator with dirty and unwashed glass shelves, something spilled and dried on the desk, a dirty end table, a sticky TV remote, a broken deadbolt on the door to the adjoining room. Traveling companion's room, however, was spotless. In retrospect, should have just asked for a different room. Both rooms lacked the disinfectant wipes promised on the website, though, so bring your own. Numerous guests not wearing masks in the lobby, so we skipped the breakfast. We were only traveling because of an emergency and will continue to avoid hotels for the time being.
Front desk man was very rude
Checked in, asked for a room on a higher level the man at the front desk was very rude and direct. He didn’t try to accommodate my request or even looked to see if there was a room not by the check in desk, he let me leave without even apologizing looked at me and said bye! Checked in at 4:35 checkout at 4:40pm
Huge one room suite! Great staff and building is relatively new
I chose this hotel because I was staying in the St. Louis area for a family event. There were many good things about this hotel that I observed but two small issues (hence the one point dock) The good things about this hotel: 1) It is a relatively new building (completed and opened in November of 2018) and is completely smoke free, so the “new building smell” is prominent. Danielle at the front desk was VERY friendly, and took care of an issue I had (see below) very quickly as well. 2) I had a one bedroom suite, and was absolutely amazed at the size of the room (see photos below). 3) The kitchen (at least in the room I had) had plenty of utensils, plates, and silverware to use, and the hotel provided a dishwasher to use to clean the items. Now the bad, hence the one point dock: 1) In the evening of the first day stay, I walked out of my room and smelled the odor of burnt marijuana. I immediately called Danielle, and reported it. She came to the hallway and indeed smelled the odor, and when I followed up with her, to see if she did indeed smell it, she stated she did and was awaiting a call back from management. 2) The dishwasher in my room was very hard to start; it eventually did start but was very hard to do so. As previously noted, some GPS units do not have the street address in their systems; this is not the fault of the hotel, but for people coming in from out of town, this may be a small issue. Would I stay at this hotel again? Absolutely.
