More about the hotel
Very little parking
The hotel is nice and clean. Very good with Covid regulations. It could do with a bit of money spent on refurbishment as the room we stayed in had rain dripping in through the ceiling and looking at ceiling this had been going on for some time. Unfortunately there is vey little parking and very difficult to get in and out of and it is very hard to find a spot outside on the road. The food was of a very good standard but unfortunately we had the same menu for all four days, I know they had about 8 choices but if you didn't like fish that cut the choice down somewhat. another thing is that if you book for b/b and evening meal nowhere do they explain prior to booking that the evening meal is for £25.00 only. This should be confirmed on your booking confirmation or at least explained at reception as yu booked in. Having said all this the staff were very helpful and polite and hotel had a nice view.
Lovely seaside hotel.
We loved our break here. Lovely friendly attentive staff, lovely position and spacious bedroom. Others have complained re dated furniture but we were very happy and comfortable. The bar and restaurant were beautiful and seemed recently refurbished. It’s not a great time for the hospitality trade and I cannot say how pleased we were with our stay. Up to the minute furniture and fittings are not what gives a place comfort and character. Very clean and Covid friendly. Don’t take notice of the negative comments, those people will obviously prefer the Premier Inn. Thank you to all the staff.
Does not do what it says on the tin.
This hotel is much shabbier than it looks on the website. Looks tired inside and out. It also felt that apart from the two Male receptionists and the barman who were all excellent at their jobs the other staff were using Covid to provide as little as possible. We ate on the Sunday evening in the 1810 restaurant and the menu was totally different to the sample menu on the website. What we was offered was the Sunday lunch menu but much reduced. At 7.15pm the choice of mains was roast chicken, roast beef or a goats cheese tart! Three choices with no substitute offered. We had stayed previously in a hotel in Frome which cost us far less and offered far superior levels of comfort and service. I would rather stay at the Premier inn on the seafront in Exmouth than stay here again!
Nothing executive about this suite
I must have missed the point of the reviews on this hotel. Scores well but unsure who the client base is... carpet shabby and worn, mixed style to such a point even carpet missing. Dated decor and needs the hotel manager to take a good look at very nook and cranny. Needs a good repair. Had an executive suite, worse nights sleep ever. Twin beds brought together, no topper to soften the split, hard bed, thin pillows. Burnt hand on radiator in Bathroom so hot, toilet seat not matching the toilet. Bedside light that had no socket to plug into!!! Wonky lamp on wall, just took a nudge to straighten Saving grace from a complete walk out, it was clean sea view and breakfast good
Mini break
Nice hotel, room was a good size but had all the furniture bunched at one end. Lovely big bathroom with a tiny shower but we had clean linen and hot water. Few problems with no tv ariel and no heating but staff more than happy to help. Not sure what was going on with the hot water pipes -when anyone used the hot water the pipes would bang?? Food was nice, basic, limited menu but served hot and very quick. As we spent alot of time in our room a comfy chair or sofa would have been useful as we had to sit on the bed but all in all we had a great time The staff couldn't have done more to help and it was a great location for us. Parking is VERY tight espcially if you have a big car
