The Great Grubb Bed and Breakfast

We booked in for a few nights( my husband has stayed here before,last year...) Its a good location,plenty of parking( pleasant walk into Totnes) Pretty double room,very clean&welcoming.. en suite large shower( Eden products,fluffy towels,heated towel rain) The room has black out blinds,plenty of wardrobe/drawer space... tv,wifi... kettle,a cafetière&sachets of teas The full english breakfast was marvellous&of course everything was “safe” re the social distancing&cleanliness John&Sandra could not have done anymore to make our stay a pleasure,especially when we had to cut it short due to family reasons back home! We will certainly be back&highly recommend this B&B

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left we were treated by our most wonderful hosts, where nothing was too much trouble and giving their best was what came natural too them. The rooms were really comfortable, very well presented, thoroughly cleaned and COVID-proof. Breakfast each day was fabulous for both myself, my husband and and our two year old, who became best friends with John on her stay and loved jibbering and chatting to Sandra about her day. Again we ate like kings, ever morning.. Our stay was 5 nights, so we got to enjoy all of Totnes and we’re recommended to got to Broadsands beach, Dartmouth steam valley railway and river cruise at Dartmouth both of which we truly loved. Salcombe was only a few miles away again and as was DZP (or Dartmoor Zoological Society as it’s now known). We were also recommended many places to eat all within walking distance and we literally had the beautiful woodland of Follaton House and the beautiful river dart (with seals) just around the corner. Loved this place - 10/10 and have already booked to go back in October :)

We were visiting the Sharpham Trust site and needed overnight accomodation for one night. The accomodation was excellent! Very helpful introduction providing by John with info on restaurants bars etc plus facilities available in B&B. Very good location 10 mins walk from top of high street, good carparking. Excellent breakfast and again just enough interaction from Sandra to make us feel welcome without overdoing. Thoroughly recomment Great Grubb and Totnes!

Stayed 2 nights 30th January - 1st February. Sandra & John are fantastic hosts who do everything and beyond to meet the needs of their guests. We stayed in Room 7 , a separate annex adjoining the main building. The room was well furnished, clean and comfortable. From the start John and Sandra were cheerful, helpful and informative in providing useful, and very accurate, advice on local facilities and restaurants, all with good humour. 6 friends were also staying on the second night and our hosts very kindly set out the Dining Room with wine glasses etc so we could continue our conversation on return from the restaurant. There were other kind and much appreciated gestures and offers of help. The breakfasts were spot on and set you up for the day. We have not stayed in a B&B for over 25 years, normally preferring hotels, the Great Grubb was an eye opener in the very best sense of the word and Sandra and John are nothing short of magnificent, Thank you.

Very accommodating and friendly owners, lovely breakfasts. Very clean, tidy and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows soft as clouds! Couldn't ask for anything more 5 stars all day long
