Great little pub

This is a great little pub in Dewlish offering a varied menu. All the standard traditional pub food such as fish and chips, chilli etc with some assist twists such as dumplings! Well stocked bar with local and national ales and ciders. Worth a visit.

My husband and I stayed for the night as doing a local wine tasting in the area. We had a lovely stay, the room was comfortable and bright! We enjoyed a lovely evening meal, freshly cooked food and reasonably priced. The breakfast was also amazingly cooked. All staff we met were welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely place. Great friendly service.

Lovely place. We had room 3 and it was a good size. Comfy bed. Not immaculate but for the money it was great. Meals and service there was excellent. Breakfast next day was lovely. A huge thank you to Nan (Mary) for our lift. We will definitely return
Great Country pub.

Just stopped in for a pub lunch. Fantastic country pub with really good food (locally sourced sausages we're amazing). The staff were supper friendly. Of course being a country pub there were horses (with their riders) stopping for a refreshment. If you are local or it is on your way somewhere I'd definitely recommend popping in.
Gem of a Country pub with Matchless Service and Great Pub Grub

Two of our friends were staying in the Bournemouth area and we chose to meet up at the Oak, equidistant for both couples. Email booking was dealt with in a pleasant manner. We were cordially greeted at the door and shown to our table. A Plain, roomy, but somehow homely atmosphere in the bar and as it filled up felt just as a country pub should. Drinks arrived and to of us had an excellent pint of a beer called 'Innocent' This is a free house with a good selection of drinks We were desperately trying to decide from a really good pub grub menu and were not rushed. Our choices were delivered all together and my king prawns with a mild chilli sauce and lovely fresh salad garnish tasted as good as it looked. My wife had whitebait, nicely served. My main was 3 of the best sausages i can recall with 2 eggs and a good portion of excellent chips. My friend had a gammon steak, beautifully presented. Two of us had some really nice salted ice cream. I had a very good cup of coffee. The service throughout was very friendly and I asked about the sausages. They had come from the farm directly opposite the pub. My next job is to find out whether there is a retail outlet for them. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening and when our friends return to Bournemouth after the new lock down we will definitely return. Highly recommended in every respect
