Excellent hotel

The flamingo beach is a beautiful hotel, situated on the beach front in a very good location, actually Sidi Mehrez beach is one of the best on the island. The cleanness of the whole property is astonishing, the food is absolutely top class too. Finally the owners and the staff are adorable, be prepared for a warm welcome over here. I highly recommend the flamingo beach , you definitely won’t regret your stay

The best hotel on Djerba Island

Reviewed 17 august, 2019

"Welcome to paradise" I still remember these words from a kind customer, the first day at Flamingo beach hotel and indeed, it's a real pearl in the touristic district on Djerba island where you feel you're home: a warm conviviality, a considerate staff, clean rooms connected to wifi, a rich menu with a copious breakfast and tasty local and mediterranean courses generousely cooked by Madam Hela, the owner, you don't really need to eat somewhere else, a nice swimming pool in an intimate corner in the hotel without forgetting the breathtaking view of the famous turquoise island sea. There is a private beach and a public one as well, you can ride horses, camels, quads, jet ski and more activities in the several nautical resorts all along the beach. Regarding transport, cabs pass often in front of the hotel. I would like to thank Mustafa, Ali, Slim, Saif, Tahar,Madam Monjia and the last but not the least a big hug to Madam Hela and Mister Nabil for the hospitality, kindness, respect and honesty. Your hotel is the best all over Djerba island. Trust all these positive feedbacks and you won't be desappointed.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Expectations Exceeded

As i write these words, my wife Hana and I are enjoying the very last moments of our stay at the Flamingo Beach Hotel, by the crystal clear sea on a very sunny morning. The breeze, delicate and cuddling is cooling us down. Do you visualize what I am writing? Great. Keep reading you are in for a treat. We ended up booking a room, half board, at the Flamingo Beach Hotel. A typical Djerbien home, previously owned by a Tunisian lawyer and his family, offering 15 rooms, all located around a traditional patio with no roof above so you get to enjoy the sun or the shade, the gentle breeze and the stars at night...we live in a capital, so being charmed by so many stars at your doorstep is a wonder. The room feels cosy and welcoming, the bed is on the firm side, ideal to rest, relax and feel energized and fresh in the morning after a good night sleep, that has no price for us. With 15 rooms only, you can bet you are in for the ultimate absence of noise, no DJ, no doors slamming or lousy party people. If this is what you are looking for, keep reading it gets better... The owners, Hela and her husband Nabil, welcomed us with a warm and confident smile, which told me that they love what they do. Hela arrived on the island of Djerba in 1973, she lives and breathes for it, it almost feels like a love story between her and the wonders of the tradition and culture. The staff is a perfect blend of kindness and warmness with a great sense of humour. Mustafa, Salim and the others are genuinely interested in your well being. You can sense it...To a point that we quickly felt like we were here ever since and as such, a part of the family. And lets not forget Ali, the man on the beach, who will get you setup with sunbeds, matraces and something to bite or drink if you need to, always with a great smile. With a half board setup I was expecting the usual buffet, eat as much as you can, with average food quality and poor variations in the meals. I was wrong. So wrong! Terribly wrong that from the first dinner I praised the Gods of holiday booking for sending us at the Flamingo Beach. What you need to know is that your meals will be prepared based on your tastes and preferences, if you have a special diet, no problem, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free...she will accommodate to you, as she cooks for you. Yes you read that right, for YOU! As we are keen on trying new things, we trusted Hela to take us through the colorful and tasty Tunisien cuisine. Every dinner was the highlight of the day, from starters to main meal and down to dessert. She makes them all, with passion and love, in her kitchen. We had the delight to eat meals like Brique, Tunisian Pasta, Chorba soup, Guenaouia Ragout, Yahrni, Fatma's "fingers", Couscous, Tunisian Salad with Tuna, Tunisian Tagine...the list gets longer. Every meal had the right balance of flavors and aromas, well presented like a piece of art, all were cooked to a point where every bite instantly melted in your mouth. Hela laughs at herself when she says she cooks with a "Kiffe" (translates as great pleasure, almost spiritual). Well, after eating her creations for a week and never be disappointed or annoyed I can also confirm it. She does do it with a "Kiffe". And if you like wine, upscale your meal with a Magon red 2015 or a Ugny Blanc 2016 they are fabulous. To summarize the Flamingo Beach's not just a hotel for vacations. It's your hotel! A place where your stay will be personalized to your needs and likings, by ordinary people doing extraordinary moves to fullfill your stay with happiness and pleasure. If you can relate to my words above then book your room now. You won't regret it. Enjoy your stay at the Flamingo Beach. Romain & Hana

After 3000km circle around Tunisia on motorbike this was GREAT stop for rest

Hello to everybody, I slept in this very nice hotel during my trip around all Tunisia and experience from this place was amazing for me and my 2 friends. First about quality of hotel - Iam lowcost traveler, traveling last 21 years and visited 78 countries in world, so I slept in many places but Iam not kind of person who sleeping in 5 or 4 stars resorts and hotels. So maybe for somebody this 3 star hotel is not good enough but for me this was briliant and absolutely perfect place. Hotel is very clean and cozy with nice view from room on the sea and beach. But what I love on this place most is owners and their staffer... They have absolutely best attitude to visitors. Its not only professional but nice warm personal attitude and you will feel like i your home with nice people around. They always help and be ready make you happy. Food was in Flamingo for me personaly best food in all Tunisia. Hotel have free wifi you can connect almost in all places in hotel, free private parking and is located in nice peace area on beach. Close but away from bussy turistic places. I did not find here any negative thing so Iam giving to this place 5/5 points as a best place to visit :) Tunisia have btw most friendly and nice people in all north Africa and they are more friendly then most our people in Europe. Tunisia is in fact much more safe then our European big cities. Thats reality and true. Just come to visit this nice country and you will see and understad what I mean :)

One night at the Flamingo

Reviewed 22 june, 2014

I booked the Flamingo directly by telephoning the hotel from the UK, the lady who turned-out to be the owner’s wife (Hela), was welcoming and very friendly, made the booking for me with no issues at all, didn’t require credit card or any guarantees, and when I requested a room with a sea view, she said no problem. This is a small hotel suitable for an independent traveller that doesn’t want to travel & stay with the tourist crowds. There is free and reliable WIFI in the room & lobby, the beach is across the road from the hotel. Whilst the hotel is not your modern 4-5 star hotel with 2-3 swimming pools and multiple food buffet, the owners Nabil & Hela make-up for the deficiencies in their personal attendance to all your needs as a traveller.
