Sonesta Lite, a Suite in Name Only, and No Breakfast
Reviewed 23 november, 2021
This is a Sonesta Simply Suites, not a regular Sonesta. The name is a mis-nomer. The room is a regular hotel room, not a suite. I have stayed at regular Sonesta Hotels in Atlanta and Orlando very recently, and they're much better than this. They include a limited breakfast, very limited at Orlando. This Sonesta Simply Suites has no breakfast at all. When I pointed this out, they gave COVID as their excuse. When i said that other Sonestas have a limited breakfast, finally they indicate there are different levels of Sonesta. At Atlanta and Orlando, the rooms are much larger than this, more like a small apartment. That said, the room is decent enough, just have to supply your own breakfast.

I have visit Miami a few times but this time I decided to stay at the Sonesta Miami international airport because it was convenient for me since is located very close to the airport and on my first night I went ahead and I decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant and my honest opinion is that I had an amazing dining experience my waitress was veryProfessional and very attentive her name is Sayda and she’s definitely the definition of excellent customer service in the food industry . I highly recommend dining at the hotel restaurant.

We stayed here with questionable expectations. They were far exceeded. Not only was the room great, but the water for the shower was also hot. The hotel staff was amazing. Luz helped us with whatever we needed and more. She went out of her way to get us coffee at 1:00 A.M. I would highly recommend this place, for the room and the service.
Dishonest lying staff that will do anything for profits

This place sucks. This place is dark, old and dirty, don't let yourself be fooled by the positive reviews and biased photos. Here's what it sucks at. It's close to the MIA airport noise hell. It's non-stop, day and night, Saturday to Sundays are the worst. Prior to moving in I asked the sales director if it was in the path of the planes, and I was lied to, it's right in the path of the planes. I can't believe these people didn't have the decency to install better windows in their lousy building, they're so cheap (or just dumb). I can't wait to get the heck out of this place for this single motive. But the place feels dirty, it's outdated and the bathroom has a strange smell. Not just the smell, when the bathroom floor gets wet, it seems the floor gives off cement which turns the floor into a mud puddle, disgusting. The rooms have a poor design, which makes them kinda dark, dark colors everywhere, dark carpet, dark furniture. From Saturday to Sunday, prepare for the airplane noise festival, which goes late into Sunday morning, it's non-stop and it gave me insomnia a few times. They have very old TV's with small screens, and the remote controls don't work. The photos give you the impression that it's a new and modern building but it's not. The entrance doors don't even have automatic opening, if your hands are busy with bags. The queen room is pretty small, unlike what you'd think from the pictures. The sink is tiny. On the bright side, it has a lot of cookware for cooking, and a dish washer. In brief, not good, but survivable, if you're not very picky. Oh, don't believe what the staff tells you, they don't keep their promises. They told me my rate wasn't gonna change for renewals, but one certain day, out of the blue, they called me to ask me if I wanted to extend (what the?), as they wanted to increase my rate by $20 dollars. I said I wasn't prepared to leave and got no notice, but then she intimidated me by bringing up the Doral police department into our discussion. Stay away!!!
THEY ARE LIARS AND CROOKS

When we got there we were told by Javier that our reservation had been Cancled. He so happened to find a trash room for a ridiculous higher price. We decided to turn down his offer, and stay at the Hilton. When we called Priceline to get a refund, after they contacted this CROOK OF A HOTEL:::they stated this crook of a hotel said we were a NO SHOW!! What a slap in the face. Then they went on to say Javier never worked there. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Imagine flying in at 1:00am in the morning and being told your reservation was Cancled. Imagine no other available hotels. All because the greed of the front desk clerk Javier who was trying to book a room at a higher price to what he thought was desperate travelers. Then when you demand your 4 night refund... They flat out lie. It’s so UNPROFESSIONAL AND DEMEANING!!!! I could have paid their ridiculous price. But, what about someone who had just spent their last to get there. AGAIN DO NOT STAY HERE!!! THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!
