Wen we arrived we wer told the heating is on in our apartment. We opened the door to a freezin property. Turned on the heating and water squirted out of the raduatir pipe, it was broke despite us been told the heating was on. Roger, the manager, said he forgit the radiator was broke and he moved us next door. Next door was just as cold. Twice we called roger to turn on the heating. When he eventually turned it on the next day he had it set at the lowest and said he cudnt higher it up. There was a wifi code in the propety but no wifi. We got no breakfast even though we paid for it. The room was £170 . We gave £180 to roger. He had no change on him and never returned our £10. Twice the manager just walked in without knocking and totally invaded our privacy. On arrival we are asked to pay in cash so the property wouldnt have to pay booking.com their fee. We wer given a story to tell in case boking.com enquired as to why we paid cash. All in all this was a dreadful experience in a beautiful location. It seems as though management has given up.
Flatfield one night stay.
For the international sheepdog trials my father and I needed somewhere to stay for the night and I think we couldn't have picked a better place. First of all the owner Mrs Wilson was really welcoming and sat us down next to the fire and made us really at home. The house itself and surrounding gardens were really beautiful and so pretty, well kept, antique and I'd go as far as saying cinematic because it was stunning. In the morning we got a full breakfast that I couldn't even finish! Mrs Wilson chatted to us about Sligo, where we are from, as we ate the lovely breakfast. I can without hesitation advised anyone seeking to stay somewhere in Moira that Flatfield House is the house to go to!
Spotlessly clean. Quiet
A lovely place to stay. Took the help of the owners mother to turn on the oven but it was a long day and we had no problems in the morning once we had the trick of it. Tiny bit expensive if only one person is paying but that wasn’t their fault and for a group it would be great value. Countryside home minutes from the city
Family Trip for Wedding
We booked into the Flatfield House on the Friday afternoon, stayed till the Sunday. Rodger was there to meet us. We had a family Wedding on the Saturday. Rodger arranged a 8 seater taxi to take us to & from the Wedding Venue. The house was lovely. The bedroom were very spacious and beautifully decorated. Very powerful showers. If back in the area would defiantly stay here again.
A great bank holiday weekend.
Having decided at the last minute to book a bank holiday stay in Northern Ireland, I was delighted to discover Flatfields House which exceeded expectation in all respects. The Wilson's Georgian style farm house offers a selection of different types of accommodation to suit individuals, couples, families or larger groups. It is set in a picturesque rural location, with very easy access to Belfast, pretty, well kempt local towns, the Mourne Mountains and the sea side. I booked a twin room which had an en suite facility and decorated to a high standard. Breakfast was included and the proprietors were very accommodating with respect to our itinerary; even facilitating the return of our hire bikes. I have no hesitation in recommending Flatfields. This is a great place to be based for exploring Northern Ireland.
