Standard DoubleTree, what takes it from a 3 to a 4 is the restaurant. This is a higher quality restaurant, not 'a restaurant in the hotel'. Osteria by Fabio Viviani is the restaurant and my meal was very good. It is needed, as there is really nothing walkable in the area. On a cold windy Chicago night, not having to leave the hotel, do email, and have a quality drink and a meal is a huge plus. Sleep quality was standard, and the Diamond breakfast was limited (this was in early March so might have opened up by now). It is right off of 355, easy on and off, nice location.

We stay here when visiting the grandkids and they're now teenagers so that's a lot of visits. Kudos to Keyonna and Yvonne who always are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are getting very dated and the plumbing needs updating. The two room suites are terrific however and the wet bar is wonderful. Cookies are terrific, breakfast is really good and that staff is awesome. The fitness center is clean and has enough equipment for a good workout Evening receptions are not back, not sure they ever will be, even though they are advertised. The hotel is in an office park and affords a nice walk and there's a pond with swans. In April you can see sunrise over downtown Chicago and sunset depending on where and how high you face.

The hotel itself was fine; much of what you’d expect. The problem with our stay was the other guests and lack of staff to handle it. Rowdy crowd in the pool, that proceeded to prop open the outside door from the pool. This caused it to be cold and their smoke filled the pool area. It was incredibly disrespectful and there was no staff around to help manage.

The lobby looks nice, the rooms are a bit dated. The shower drain was slow to drain, so you have shower in standing water. No usb outlets to charge electronics, the carpet needs a good shampoo. Quality poor in my opinion for a DoubleTree hotel.

Cockroaches in Rooms

We checked in to the hotel on NYE at around 4pm and checked out around 6 pm after finding 3 live cockroaches in our room. We were on the 2nd floor across from the kitchen. When we were leaving the room, we saw cockroaches in the hall as well. The breakfast area was also across from our room, so we looked around the buffet area and sure enough saw more cockroaches. Absolutely disgusting!! When you see that many cockroaches in a short amount of time, there is an infestation problem. The hotel refunded us right away and didn’t even want to see the pictures and videos I took. They need to do something about the roaches though. It’s absolutely disgusting that those things are crawling around rooms and the breakfast area and the kitchen!
