Our Stay at The Inn at Dresden
We stayed at the Inn for our 38th Wedding Anniversary. Joy, the Innkeeper/Owner, was an absolute delight! She personalized our stay with an anniversary dinner, a light, yet hearty salad with wine, instead of a wine and cheese plate, and a hearty breakfast (included in the cost of the stay) every morning. The accommodations were absolutely lovely! The town of Dresden is small and quaint with a variety of small shops, though few were open during our stay. There is the Warehouse Steak house that we would recommend - not a lot of seating, but we did carry out and ate in our suite. We honestly had no reason to venture out into the village, as we had everything we needed on site. Thank you, Joy, for helping us to celebrate our anniversary! You, your pup, Chewy, and the Inn at Dresden are absolute GEMS!
Get-away weekend
We had a wonderful get-away weekend at the Inn at Dresden. The innkeeper, Joy, was so nice – and a fantastic cook. We enjoyed two breakfasts (loved the French toast) and a 4-course dinner (the pasta and greens salad was our favorite). We stayed in the City Lights room. It was spacious, had a huge private deck, and beautiful panoramic views of the valley below all day and all night. While the décor is a bit dated, the room and entire facility was very clean. Unfortunately, the town of Dresden no longer has much to offer, but we were really there just to relax and unwind. The Inn definitely provided that for us.
Birthday Overnight
Joy is to be commended for her cuisine. We dined in and had the space entirely to ourselves with a beautiful 4-course meal. This was the highlight of our stay. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent. We stayed in The Founder’s room which was large and had a comfortable bed. There is not a view from this room really, as it is the back of the Inn and overlooks a large, covered terrace. The Inn is dated. Our room had a few housekeeping issues that needed addressed like dust on ceiling fans and bugs in lights. I did bring this to Joy’s attention at check out and she was very appreciative and handled the constructive criticism gracefully. Also, the dining room window had a huge crack which looks like maybe a ginormous bird had flown into it. When the view is one of the biggest assets of this property, that needs fixed. Also, the Adirondack chair on the property entrance has a large slat of white wood missing. These are all elements that give one a first impression and need addressed. I wish the couple well as I’m sure a property like this is a maintenance headache, but having traveled a great deal in my lifetime, I can’t really say this is a luxury property.
Great place to stay!
This was a great out of the way place to stay with great views. I only wished we could have stayed during the fall when the leaves changed. The inn is a vast place with all kinds of interesting rooms. Plenty of space to relax.
Best overnight stay ever!
My husband and left our children with grandma and took a day for ourselves. Decided we may as well stay out for the evening too if we could find a room with a jacuzzi tub. Called it seemed like 50 places and nothing. Then I tried the Inn at Dresden. Joy said she had one room left and she would wait for us(it was 8pm at this time). We were so glad to find this gem of a place and Joy couldn't have been a better hostess! She is an incredible chef and served us a delicious breakfast. We will definitely be back to sample her four course dinner and wonderful conversation!
