Had a really nice time at this hotel despite reading negative reviews beforehand. It’s really quite alright! We paid a bit extra for a sea view and it was worth the money. Beautiful views across the sea and of the beach below. Yes it’s a little basic and old for the cost of the stay but all Dubrovnik is expensive. The room was big enough and had flat screen tv and benefitted from a few other upgrades since the hotel photos were taken. The bed however was old and very creaky! Breakfast was nice each morning overlooking the sea with a good selection and good coffee. We spent some days at the neighbouring hotels that seemed to be part of the same Hotel chain and visited their bars and beaches which were good. Tips: Food and drink in Dubrovnik isn’t cheap and 2. Take insect repellent with you!
The worst hotel I've ever been to. Very old and dangerous to health. Terrible stench from the air conditioner, and when you open the balcony door - sewer. The rooms are not as in the pictures. Urgently needed renovation.
For a young couple, we couldn't really ask for more!
The room was basic but that's all we needed and expected. Location was absolutely spot on, quiet enough to relax but still atmosphere. There were lots of lovely bars and restaurants in the area (you HAVE to go to the Sunset Bar to watch the sunset, or the Cave Bar if you can get a seat!!), and we also travelled to Dubrovnik Old Town by Uber very easily some evenings! The breakfast was really yummy, and the snack bar with the sea view was great for lunches. Sitting outside on the morning for breakfast was bliss! The staff were really friendly and helpful. For a young couple, we couldn't really ask for more! We both agreed we would go straight back to Hotel Vis if we were to ever visit Dubrovnik again!
I have stayed at Vis hotel for two summer vacations
I have stayed at Vis hotel for two summer vacations. Vis hotel offer excellent location for a beach holiday. Friendly staff, good breakfast, room is ok but could have been better. It is easy to travel by local bus from Vis hotel and to Dubronvik old town. I will for sure come back for my next Croatia holiday.
Hotel Vis, Lapad... A blast from the past.
Hotel very dated, knew it was 3 star wasn’t expecting 5 star but, it was a shock. Warm and stuffy carpeted corridors and skirtings. Scuffed paintwork. Room very basic, foggy windows, and peeling paintwork in the bathroom. Old fashioned pull and chain toilet and hair dyer you’d expect to see in a 70’s swimming baths. Noisy toilet system on occasion. Super thin towels and bath mat complete with fraying edges. Super powerful hot shower, with complimentary toiletries (average). Bed reasonably comfy, and room was clean, no drainage smells. Extra bedding if required. Definitely worth paying for sea view, as the views are lovely. Even though our view was obstructed by a large tree. Canteen style buffet, average food, breakfast slightly better than dinner, with usual choices. A few regional dishes on offer. Don’t bother with the rosé! Lovely view across the bay from the outdoor eating area, but gardens looking tired and need some TLC. Reception staff on the whole very helpful and polite, easy and quick check in, be prepared to pay the local tax which was 10 kuna pppn. Lacking in ambience throughout the hotel, seriously needs bringing up to date. Adequate if you need a clean bed for the night. Would rate this hotel 2/5 stars.
