More about the hotel
Disappointed.
Our vacation to Hawks Cay was in lieu of a cruise this year. It's a second visit to the hotel. Last time we stayed in a two story house. I want to say right up that the service folks were great. Our suite was so so. The balcony was filthy. Our room had a sitting area but no tv. The bathroom had no fan and the shower had no grab bar and it was scary to use . There was no garbage pick up for a week!!. :( That was bad and we had wet towels on the floor. I think they could have offered to pick up the towels and give us some clean ones and definitely the garbage. We ate at Six Prime and it's high priced restaurant. I think $144.00 for two with no drinks is high. Definitely not for children. We tried the Marketplace a few times but it would have been nice to have service in there and not grab and go. We decided to eat off of the property. Lastly I must say the singer Elani was so bad. I hate to say that about anyone who tries but we literally ran out of Six Prime because it hurt to listen. She did sing by the pool a couple of times and tried to sing Jimmy Buffet songs. Not! I don't know if we will be back. I know a few more activities would have been nice. It definitely didn't replace our cruise. It's a beautiful place. It just needs some tweaking!!
The best
This hotel is great. The staff- especially Kristina- were amazing. The property was perfect for our group. The restaurant accommodated us so fast and made us so comfortable with a private room and awesome service. We will Be back!
Family Trip
With everything going on we just wanted to get away. I had read and called the resort and found that most activities were open and available, so we did not hesitate. The resort looked beautiful, and offered free parking. Our arrival was great, they allowed us to check in an hour early. My main complaint was that the reason we were getting away was because with the pandemic, life has left us very little to do, so since their activities were open, we figured it gave us something to do, but I was sad to learn that the activities all shut down at sundown (5pm) including the pool. That left us nothing to do after 5pm. They had a fire pit outside, with live music some days, but with a child that was not our choice of activities. So I would suggest keeping activities such as the activities room, and the pool open till at least 10pm like some other resorts. My other problem was the lack of restaurant options. Their main restaurant in the hotel did not offer a very family friendly menu, so I would suggest making the main restaurant Six Prime a little more family friendly with the menu. They do have some other restaurants such as Angler a short golf cart ride, or if you are feeling like walking, you can certainly walk to the restaurant, but once again the menu was more on the burger, chicken finger type of food, with very limited options for good healthy family friendly food. I would say update to a more friendly healthy option menu, with more options like Grilled Salmon, Baked or Grilled Chicken, and some meat options. The reason I am suggesting the update on the menu is because there is not many other food option places. I say there are two other food place option about 20minute drive that gives a better food menu, but some days you just want to eat at your own resort. The amenities such as the bikes and paddle boards, and mini golf could use some updating. The hotel staff were friendly, but the restaurant staff was not very accommodating. I wanted to order to go from Six Prime since I was the only one in the family willing to try their weird name chicken dish, but they said no, it's dine in. When I asked if I sat down, and asked for them to pack the food as soon as it came to the table would they do it, they said yes, I said then what's the difference? They still would not do it. One morning I had breakfast at six prime and the breakfast was good, and the cappuccino was good, so. on my way out I stopped in and asked for a cappuccino to go, they said they don't do to go coffee, once again I asked "if I sit down, and once you bring it, I asked you to put it in a to go cup, will you guys do that, they said yes, and I once again said "then what's the difference? but they would not do it, and sent me to the market place. to me that is very poor service. You should accommodate to your guest. I could understand if the restaurant was packed, and they were overwhelmed, but there was no one in the restaurant.
Family Vacation
We have stayed here several times, this past vacation was with our whole family 2 kids 2 adults. Kids enjoyed the dolphin experience and the pool. The night time manager Krystyna was and has been wonderful. Rooms are clean. We also stayed here for our 10 year wedding anniversary in November 2019. That was a very nice stay without the kids. We love the keys. The resort is small, quiet and not super crowded. All in all we had a great time.
FANTASTIC
We visited for 8 days in January and had a GREAT time. We have 4 kiddos and there was so much for them to do. We had a little hiccup and Chris D was fantastic to make everything perfect! We will be back!
