If you are looking for a clean, comfortable room and need to stay on a budget, I would recommend this hotel. It could use some updating but overall for the money a nice place to stay. The breakfast is not bad.

Passing thru Dumas from Dallas to points north. Checked in early evening for a one night stay. The room was hot and AC not working properly. The room was dingy with old carpet and furnishings. The hotel hallway had the same feeling. I would have left had I not been in the mood to just collapse. Owners need to spend some money on this place - or Econo needs to pull the franchise affiliation.
A Big Disappointment

After a long day on the road, I was looking for a place where I could park my pickup and an 11’trailer. The Econo Lodge offered that along with a low price. My room was hot and the A/C would not run on high. I switched to low and headed for the shower. The tub drained so slowly I was ankle deep in water before I finished. The A/C seemed to be cooling very slowly so I decided to sleep on top of the sheets. I woke in the morning drenched in sweat. I found the hall and outside were considerably cooler than the room. I was the first guest to the breakfast area. Coffee was ready. There wasn’t enough batter to make a full waffle so I settled for part of one. In the future I’d rather sleep in the cab of my truck than to stay at this hotel. My night was not restful. A big disappointment.

This was by far the nastiest Econo Lodge we have ever stayed at. I am surprised that Choice Hotels allows them to use the brand. One simple example of the level of quality here, the orange juice at the breakfast buffet was actually Tang.

First off WE DID NOT STAY HERE.....After driving all day, my family was exhausted! My mother in law booked us a room here at the Econo Lodge. I was leary when we arrived, but thought it's just for 1 night, I'll just deal with it. When we walked in the lobby seemed decent, no bad smells and seemed ok. The young girl at the front desk was very nice. I noticed that this property can be used for weekly rentals, the other long term guests looked like scum bags and they just gave me the creeps. Then we go to the room. I always check over everything before we bring our luggage in, it's just a habbit that I feel is best for my family. After my inspection....The bed spread had stains, the sheets and pillow cases had stains and were so old and thin you could see through them, the "new" mattresses had black flakes all over them. The toilet would not flush all the way. I was disgusted and did not want my children staying there. Also, feared for our safety since we didnt know who was 'living' there. We peacefully voiced our concerns to the young lady at the front and she kindly got a hold of the manager and they were able to refund our money for the night. Overall my rating of the room was a 1 (0 if i could) and my rating of the employee and manager was a 5. Which is why I I averaged out the rating to a 3. BEWARD I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO ANYONE.
