Booked in for lunch for four people.Social distancing,hand sanitiser,one way system,temperature taking,all in place,which made us feel at ease.Greeted by friendly staff.Although,at present,working with a limited menu,everything was very good.Well cooked food,well presented and hot,as well as plenty of it. Staff very friendly and service great.Would certainly recommend it.A very nice clean, place to eat and friendly.This was the first time we had eaten out since lockdown,but all felt very comfortable here.Thank you all.

Food was very good and well price. Staff's attention to detail with cleanliness was really impressive, making customers feel safe. Excellent effort from all staff and hard work much appreciated. Really enjoyed the well spaced out comfortable environment. Thank you.

Had a wonderful evening at The Market Inn. It truly is like a comfy blanket... welcome back! Excellent service, excellent layout and great attention to detail regarding social distancing. But most of all fabulous food and portion size. Definitely recommend. Thanks to Emma and the team - will be back asap 😊
Lovely meal
Visited for dinner after having read positive reviews. We received a warm welcome from the two young men on duty in the bar. Menu consists mainly of your usual pub/bar dishes. I had the lamb shank which was served on a bed of mash accompanied with a lovely rich gravy. The lamb was so tender it literally fell off the bone - delicious. My husband had the chicken fajita which was served with salad and chips which he thoroughly enjoyed. The Rob Roy dessert was also very nice. I would recommend you give this restaurant a try when in castle douglas. Very nice food at reasonable prices.

I decided on staying local this year and wasn't disappointed. The Christmas party was wonderful, great food, 3 course only £22.50, very reasonable, the service was excellent very efficient and nothing a bother and a disco thrown in for free. The venue itself is a lovely big room and nicely decorated. Well done Emma and crew, you did great.
