Great location
We traveled with our dog and this place is very dog friendly. Rooms were big and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Great location overlooking the river. And a very nice dog area right out side the rooms. Short Walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shopping.
Our go-to place when in Durango
Whenever we are in Durango, this is where we stay. We've stayed directly downtown 2 other times but the parking is difficult and both times our rentals were hit. The location if this hotel is the best giving a visitor the option to walk everywhere.
Stinky Room
So besides the sketchy area the hotel is in. We felt very uneasy about leaving anything in the car or walking our dog around. A drunk man approached my husband asking for money. Then a hotel employee was shining his flashlight under the stairways for people sleeping under them. Our room stunk like stinky feet, the carpet was dirty, there was a dead bug on my a/c and during these times of Covid I should be able to walk into a room and feel good about it. This hotel needs updating tremendously. We booked two nights, we checked out the next day. I work for a hotel so I know what’s acceptable and what’s not. No bueno! Especially for what we were charged a night.
Good location on river
Spent one night here with friends. It’s an outdoor room access inn right on the river, conveniently located within walking distance of Main St and grocery stores. The 4 pillows and bed was very comfy, but the AC was very loud and you needed to keep it running else the room got too stuffy. I was pretty disappointed that the pool was closed, since I thought I was paying a little more to stay at a hotel with a pool. But it was an ok stay and I got a good nights sleep.
Convenient Clean and Comfortable
Stayed for 10 nights in May and felt like I was at home , actually low occupancy given the pandemic but great month to enjoy the quiet slow pace, hikes along the Animas River, picnic dinners in the courtyard , conveniences to food in town , and personable hotel personnel-esp. the manager Jeremy!! Especially enjoyed watching 1983 National Lampoons “Vacation” filmed in Durango and the scene of the original pool- which is now a courtyard . Great location for couples , families , business or solo- safe, clean, comfortable.
