First and only time here

We arrived early at 12.15 before the check in time at 14.00. The receptionist told us the room wasn't ready which was understandable. Afterwards we went back after 14.30 and the room still wasn't ready. We didn't like the attitude of the receptionist. Who responds to a question when the room will be ready by saying I already told your girlfriend?!?! She asked us to take a seat and wait with no indication until it's ready. The air conditioner didn't worked. I tried all modes and settings. The temperature outside at around 12 degree C and the room was 25 degree C. The walk in shower is nice, but the ground of the bathroom will be wet due to the splashes. The view outside the room was poor. The weed and rubbish outside can surely be cleaned. Other staff of the hotel seemed to be more friendly, but my experience at the hotel was already ruined during the first day and night. This will be my first and only time booking here. *Edited to include our experience during the whole stay

Mixed feelings

We stayed here about 10 years ago and expectations were high after the very good experience from back then. I had booked an executive room . Check in was done by somebody who either had a very busy day or just got out on the wrong side of the bed. Not very friendly. When we got to the room it was freezing cold. We set the AC to 25 celsius and went to dinner. When we got back t was till very cold. I went down to the reception and was told that somebody would come to take a look. After about 1,5 hour I went down again because nobody had shown up. This time we were immediately booked in a different room, an executive business suite ! Absolutely great. Too bad the refrigerator/mini bar was missing. Spa area was closed due to covid, pool hours were limited as well as amount of people allowed in at the same time. One receptionist told my wife that she could just go up the pool and, regrettably no bathrobes were available ( this was when we were still in the first room, they should have come with this type of room). When she got to the pool she was told to register downstairs at the reception.... In our second room there were bathrobes. Next day swimming pool was closed again due to technical reasons. All in all, good stay due to location, breakfast, the upgrade. But just a bit of an nagging feeling about the mixed messages some receptionists are giving and the unfriendliness of some . While others were prime examples of how you should act in such a job.

The worst hospitality experience ever!!

Only go to this hotel if you don't mind being cheated with facilities that are not there and if you like being treated like a criminal. We booked this hotel through booking.com. In the afternoon we wanted to go swimming, but the pool turned out to be closed. When we called the reception it turned out that it had been closed for a month for technical reasons, but no further explanation was given, the receptionist en he disconnected the call. When we wanted to know more about this and arrived at the reception, within 5 seconds we were given 2 choices of the most indecent receptionist I have ever experienced. Either we leave the hotel ourselves, or the police will be called. We didn't want to leave the hotel at all. So the police were called immediately. The receptionist had the right to remove us from the hotel according to the police and the reason was irrelevant. So we were kicked out of the hotel under a police escort. A very embarrassing experience! If you have a choice, please book somewhere else, a grantee a better stay than this hotel.

Great room but...

I honestly have no complaints with the room, good water pressure, modern look, slow but useable wifi and nicely located. The reason for the bad review is so it is noticed by management to fix the inconveniences so others do not have to deal with them. The first issue was the line for check in being so long even well after check in hours. There are four clerk stations, however, only two were utilized. If this is for COVID spacing reasons at the desk, it makes things worse because of the huge pile of people building up by the entrance. The second issue is the elevator system. There are no buttons on the inside of the elevator but rather a touch screen on the outside you select your floor from. It then designates which elevator to enter (A, B, or C) to wait for. A lot of the times it will tell you no lift available and this causes people to take the stairs. Once those taking the stairs reach their floor, they realize the door cannot be opened from the stair side and either have to bang on the door hoping someone opens it or walk back down. Maybe enough bad reviews will get them to fix the elevator issue that I know many are frustrated with and have four people working the front desk.

Absolutely no respons on question regarding credit card restitution

There is absolutely zero respons on questions regarding credit card deduction. We mailed/instagrammed/... On the info@nikko-hotel.de adress you get absolutely zero feedback! Very strange regarding the way Nikko presents itself..... Service....zero points....
