Second time here - still wonderful

Stayed here in May 2018 and again in September 2021. Basically would not look anywhere else in this area although we heard it might be closing. The house is beautiful, the rooms are fantastic and the breakfast is superb. The hostess is perfectly charming.

We cannot recommend Blacket House highly enough. It is only 5 minutes off the A74M but you wouldn't know it as you arrive along the picturesque private driveway. Brenda was at the door to welcome us, and we were really made to feel at home. The bedroom was lovely and peaceful, and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was freshly made from locally sourced ingredients, and the portions very generous. We hope to be able to stay at Blacket House again in the near future.

Absolutely fabulous stay. On approach it was WOW. It didn’t disappoint. An amazing place to stay with wonderful breakfasts, such lovely gardens and surroundings. Excellent sized room. Cannot fault anything. Made very welcome by host Brenda.

Amazing BnB! The best place for wedding guests!

I cannot express how fantastic our stay was. My wife and I got ready for our wedding here. Brenda (the host) was absolutely fantastic. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. I particularly loved all the gorgeous bathroom fittings. The grounds are absolutely amazing as well. I would highly recommend you base your Gretna Green stay or wedding at Blacket House!

Enjoyed a one night stay at Blacket House, in future we will plan to stay longer. The House is set back from the road by way of a gated long driveway. On first sight the building makes quite an impression. Our arrival was on a Dull, rainy day that did not do the view justice. However, we were met by Brenda who made up for the poor weather by her greeting and welcome. A large house with several reception rooms and 6 or 8 bedrooms (not certain). Our room was to the front of the house offering good views and a high ceilinged spacious room. Off the main room is a large bathroom with toilet, wash basin, and an unusual shower. Everywhere was clean and well prepared. The bed was comfortable; bedside tables and a dressing table that had the makings for tea and coffee. We had a good nights sleep in comfort. The 'High Tech' shower was Fun! Breakfast is offered in one of the large reception rooms and, as anticipated, was very good. I particularly enjoyed the Haggis and potato Scone. We left Blacket House feeling refreshed and relaxed ahead of our long drive South. We intend to return when next we travel into Scotland.
