More about the hotel
Lovely place for a weekend away
This is a small and lovely hotel. We stayed in the Stag Barn which has six rooms. The room was immaculate and really well presented. The owner/staff are really friendly and helpful. The food was incredible (try the pear juice for breakfast). If you want to get away from it all this is the place to come.
Afternoon Tea
If you fancy an afternoon tea, you would find Frasers hard to beat. Good food, and plenty of it, well presented with great friendly service. Although a little off the beaten track but easily found with satnav, it is definitely worth the trip.
Food paradise
Just had a Fri/Sat stopover in a tranquil rural setting the rooms are lovely and the food is to die for from the 12 hr cooked shoulder of Lamb to the perfect Salmon couldn't get better coked food if you tried ! Will go back and highly recommend for any foodies
Disappointing.
Having visited Frasers two or three times in the past and had outstanding food and good service, we decided to take the post-COVID plunge and book dinner. We pre-ordered our food as requested. As requested, we rang on arrival and when I said we were in the car park, was asked why was I ringing. We were told to come to the door, hand-sanitise and we’d be met. There was nobody at the door so we entered and our table was pointed out to us.. We waited a long time for a very modest mixed starter platter, which we felt was poor value. Our main course arrived over an hour and a half after we were seated and we did notice that several other tables that had arrived some time after us were served their main courses some time ahead of us. The main courses were good although some were not hot. Side dishes of vegetables were TINY. Again, we felt this was poor value. Overall, we were disappointed with the long waits and the value we received. We did write to voice our complaints to the proprietors who responded very promptly and whilst they suggested problems were related to issues around COVID and the fact they were very fully booked, we feel restaurants should plan appropriately and not let customers down. We would not return.
Afternoon tea
Went to Frasers for afternoon tea with my grand daughter It was absolutely gorgeous. Perfectly presented and tasted delicious from the sandwiches to the cakes. Not for getting the scones with clotted cream and jam. Will definitely becoming back to sample their delights again
