Beautiful breakfast area
Great place for value. Would recommend staying here if you're joining local tours because you're near the main road so will get picked up last and dropped off first. Great breakfast with views. The staff were really nice to let us keep our three big suitcases there for 4 days when we hired the w trek.
Excellent stay - unbeatable bang for the buck
We were pleasantly surprised. We wanted a simple yet clean place to stay as the days in Calafate would be mostly spent outdoors. As soon as we arrived we were surprised by the extremely friendly staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. The staff gave us excellent recommendations for meals, lunchboxes and tours, without evidencing any connection or convenience with the places and companies recommended. Excellent spot for people that are planning to spend most of the time touring around.
Great service
We lost an iPhone in the back of a taxi The hotel got in touch with the taxi company and had it brought to the hotel When we got back to the hotel 4 days later the reunited us with the phone Great service Thanks Hotel is warm, spotlessly clean and very friendly 1km to the main street and and an easy walk too
Great price and decent location.
Front staff were friendly and helpful but make sure you aren’t charged the IVA (if you reside outside of Argentina). 5-10 minute walk from all the restaurants and Main Street. Breakfast was decent and did the job for a big day of exploring. Rooms were warm and comfortable. The only issue was in the bathroom. The shower head needed replacing as water sprayed everywhere and the floor became flooded every time. Definitely recommend for the price, cleanliness and modern comfortable room.
Great value for money in an expensive town
The hotel is relatively new. It is only 5-10 minutes from both the bus terminal and the high street, so well located. The room was well-sized and comfortable and very clean! There are good views from the room and from the cozy lounge area behind reception. The staff were friendly and helpful with all of our questions and looked after our bags for 5 days whilst we visited El Chalten. Breakfast was decent for Argentina and went on til 10am so no need to get up too early! A couple of minor issues were that the bed was very creaky and water from the tap in the bathroom seemed to spray everywhere. Also there is a small kitchen behind reception but I get the impression you can't use it. They let us boil some eggs and use the fridge when we asked nicely though! Overall it cost about £18/night which was great value for a town that is quite pricey! They only accept cash though and remember to ask for the IVA not to be charged if you are a foreigner. There is a laundrette down the road that charges about £1.50/kg (Laundry Club) and a great restaurant 5 minutes away (Morrison - check out my review for more info). There is no need to book a tour to Perito Moreno, you can easily get a bus from the bus terminal or a hotel pick-up for about £15/person return trip. Also check out the glacier museum - there is a free bus hourly from near the tourist info centre in town (and they do student discounts). There is a bird nature reserve about 25 mins walk away from the hotel, which is cheaper on a Sunday and the ticket lasts for 7 days. Walking round the lake is nice too!
