Pets and smoke stench, noisy, misleading advertisements, service is good
1 star for false advertisement (no pet rule and carpet in rooms) 1 star for terrible road noise (all rooms with odd numbers) 1 star for smoke in room 3 star for room cleanliness 5 star for service 2 star for public areas If you have allergies, beware: This hotel accepts pets and allows smoking We searched high and low for a hotel that do NOT accept pets due to our severe allergies. We found Woodsprings's advertisement that states that they DO NOT accept pets, including service animals. We also needed a non-smoking room. When we arrived, the front desk lady Jennette apologized and said ALL their rooms accept pets and that the advertisement was a mistake. She explained that their rooms go through a cleaning process especially if there had been pet presence. She was nice enough to let us check the rooms before committing. I looked at room 318. The room did not smell of any pet and was quiet, facing another hotel. We took the room and started the check in process. However, according to Jeannette, the "system" automatically assigned the room we wanted to the next person in line. I don't know how that happen but that room was "gone" when she took my credit card info (less than 3 mins from the time i checked the room to walking back to check in at front desk). Jeannette then gave me another set of keys for the room opposite the one I first looked it. This second room faces the super highway and had very loud traffic noise with the big trucks rolling by. This is a highly transient city. Unfortunately, it was the last room and it was almost midnight so we took the room. Jeannette was very sweet and due to the misunderstanding, she offered to upgrade our internet speed. Unlike most hotels, we were told because they are a service apt, the room only offers ONE internet device access and its at low speed. There is a daily fee for access for multiple devices and higher speed. I find this very unacceptable, consider the fact the digital age we are in. This rule is even worse than hotels who charge "parking" in major cities where parking is limited. Unfortunately, the second room did not work out well for us. The road noise was very loud. We also smell residual dog smell in various part of the carpet in the room. The stench is repulsive and makes me want to puke when we were in the room. The next morning around 9ish, there was strong odor of smoke. Someone upstairs or downstairs or next door was chain smoking for hours. it was a cold day and we were in the room (instead of out), unable breathe. We traced a strong smell of mold to the drain in the sink of the kitchenette. The service attendant was quick to respond and then showed up with a huge gallon of "Fabuluso"!!!! (some detergent for cleaning) Of course it masked the smell, not treat the cause of the problem. When we took the elevator down to the laundry room, it smelled of urine. I was appalled. The carpet had fresh stains of the pee. After two nights of putting up, we mentioned to Jennette, who was apologetic and tried to help us switch back to 318, which became available. She was extremely kind and sympathetic. We slept well in #318. It was a lot cleaner - did not smell of dogs or smoke. Nor does it have any road noise. We wish this was the room we had in the first place. Another misleading advertisement: both rooms we were in had low pile carpet, instead of the wood floors that the photos show. We were in favor of the wood floors when we browsed because of covid. They should remove those pictures. So, in conclusion, I believe the rooms have varying degree of cleanliness. If you are allergic to pets and sensitive to smoke like us, this is a hit or miss. We learnt that some guests could stay up to 6 months with their pets so it would be hard for them to remove "smells" in those rooms. Parking was free and aplenty. No, there weren't utensils. If the rooms do not come with towels, you could ask the front desk. Some are newer, some are like rags. The fridge is full size - which was a bonus for us as we had some food items. We did sanitized everything (the entire fridge, countertops etc) due to covid. The heater and AC and hot water works fine. The laminate on the floors are very old and needs update. The room (2 queen beds) was generous. We were grateful for Jennette who helped us during our stay. Our satisfaction of the room condition has nothing to do with her service. We have been traveling and we noticed there are some front desk staff who are terrible - even when the establishments are higher end. However, we would hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to anyone due to the issues we faced.
Great Place for long staying.
I was stay in this hotel for 6 weeks with my wife. All I can say it was wonderful, The room is very clean and fully equipped: Large refrigerator, microwave, electric stove cable tv desk and more. The best part is the General Manager named Eddie Quesada, This guy is doing everything to make your stay perfect, Anything you need just ask,: Another chair? Another blanket? need even a tape measure? just ask Eddie. I will come back again for my next trip to El Paso. Thank you very much, Especially Eddie
Got A Smoking Room
Well I asked for a non-smoking room but got a room that has been smoked in. Well, I got a room on the third floor and smoking is allowed on the fourth floor. So maybe this is second hand smoke. Will address this with Manager. Minimal furnishings, would be nice to have a lamp on the night stand. There is a refrigerator/freezer, two burner electric stove and microwave. However you have to bring your own cookware,or purchase the “Value Kitchen Pack” for $34.98, Coffee Maker $29.99. bring your own soap, toilet paper, etc. Good Luck and God Bless!
Sign away your personal information
If it wasn't for the fact you have to sign a waiver saying you are not on the National Sex Offenders Registry or any other state database, I would say stay here. But yes, you have to sign a form that says they can check. So murderers, thieves and terrorists, you are welcome, sex offenders go away. They will choose the type of criminal they will let stay here. Besides that, is is quiet, decent location, good amenities and two nice staff members. The blonde female was extremely pleasant to deal with and the gentleman who shaves his head was also friendly. There was a gentleman during the day, I was leaving and said "Good Morning" to him twice and he didn't even lift his head. So don't waste your time with him. The internet is free and it works very well. There is also a one page list of things you cant do or they can ask you to leave.
Room readiness and Theft
On 7 July 2017 I arrived at this Hotel at or about 7 pm. When arriving to the hotel after getting settle I noticed the following problems with the room stopped up kitchen and bathroom sinks, running toilet, toilet seat loose, shower spout not affixed to the shower wall and TV cable broke. On 8 July 2017 I informed a staff member about all these issues. I asked to speak with the manager Mrs. Shannon Lopez. That staff member told me that Mrs. Lopez works Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1600. On 10 July at I spoke with Mrs. Lopez over the phone about these room issues. She told me that the maintenance man was aware of them. Mrs. Lopez said he'll work on them the same day and get back with me. Mrs. Lopez did get back with me and said all issues where taken care. I returned to the room at or about 9 pm. Once I got settled I noticed that my Ikea reusable bag was missing. I immediately informed the attendant on duty. The both of us went to the dumpster to see if someone throw it away. It was dark so it was hard to see things. The next morning at about 0700 I spoke with Mrs. Lopez about the situation and also brought another Ikea bag to show her exactly what was taken from my room. Mrs. Lopez said she would look into it. The impression I received from Mrs. Lopez was that somehow I was bothering her because she wouldn't even directly look in my eyes went speaking to her. I find this whole situation unacceptable and very unprofessional. Ion 11 July I contacted Tingo the booking agent to assist me in getting a resolution. The gentleman that helped me took all the information about this situation down and contacted the hotel. The assistant manager located the Ikea bag and slid it under my door. The assistant manager offer to refund the unused portion only. The Tingo representative stated he would sent this to his escalation department to get a resolution that is acceptable. There was no apology or compensation for my inconvenience offered. On 13 July I followed up with Tingo to get a status the supervisor Basty forwarded the entire case to his escalation department again and asked me to write this review to get greater visibility with the Tingo escalation department and it' management.
