Good breakfast, ok room

The desk clerk was friendly. The room was spacious and clean, but the bathroom was dimly lit and the toilet was the kind with no seat cover. I hate an open toilet. Also, when we opened our curtains there was plastic across them and scaffolding outside. That made the room dim, also. I will say the hot breakfast was plentiful with crispy, yummy bacon. COVID protocols were in place in the breakfast area, with even plastic gloves offered. I put these to use when I realized how many items other people’s hands were touching.
Breakfast was hot

Where do I begin. First, the side door from the parking lot doesn’t work with the key any time of the day. (What has that got to do with the pandemic if that’s why it’s done??). There is only 1 coffee for the coffee maker with sugar and packaged creamer in the room. The room had normal amenities. However, the shampoo ,etc is in a pump bottle instead of individual bottles. It is across from a Mexican restaurant. The food is really good and we didn’t pay a fortune. There is a big gravel area in the back for oversized vehicles. BUT some weren’t told or didn’t use it. Not sure how that is fair. The breakfast was hot. There was a server who took your request one by one and gave you what you wanted It was EXCELLENT!!! Thank you so much. However, either they ran out or they don’t appear to have frozen meals in the little store . Overall not sure how I feel about this property. The hot breakfast is great, but the negatives outweigh I think.
Rude Rude and Rude

We booked our reservation and several of the people we talked to were rude and not customer friendly. We had several people coming to stay and almost everyone who called to book was under the same impression. We love Holiday Inn Express and are very sad by this experience.

We stopped here for a 12 hour layover on our way home from Sedona. Great check-in, good rooms and fantastic breakfast. It was a hot breakfast served by a staff member. There were more choices than we could eat. I would stay here again.

So me and my husband drove all the way from Las Vegas non stop. We are spire elite members due to his job he travels and we stay with ihg holiday inn all year around on the road. So when we seen there was a holiday inn, we both say hey let’s stop to take a break for the night. We ALWAYS book our reservation online. SO, I walk to the bathroom and so does my husband. We both know check in isn’t usually until 3pm, sometimes certain spots can check us in earlier. But again I could not wait. So my husband said he’d book the room online while he was using the restroom. Like I said ,I couldn’t wait any longer I really had to go. So yes I was in the restroom for a little bit because for one I have to sanitize the seats, and then put the tissue down as a seat cover. I am also pregnant and it’s a little harder for me to hold my bowels. From all the vitamins etc... then a cleaning lady comes in the bathroom that can clearly see someone was sitting on the toilet using the restroom. All of a sudden I hear “you both need to leave!” In a very rude manner... No public restrooms. (Which I understand) But I didn’t know that there were no rooms avail because my husband was the one booking the room online while he was on the toilet. So my husband gets up and explains to the front desk. They say okay. Once I leave the restroom she’s on the phone w security!!! This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with any IHG owned holiday inn. She made it out to be like we were bums that wanted to come use the restroom. We would never do that. That is what rest stops and gas stations are for. We travel so we are pretty aware of the dos and dont’s. I just wanted to rest for a night. And we chose this place. I just don’t understand why they couldn’t wait for us to come out of the bathroom and then talk. Not yell through the door in such a rude manner. Now what if there were rooms avail and my husband ended up booking the room. After the way she spoke to us I wouldn’t have wanted to stay there after that anyway. I understand w covid and everything being so crazy. But that’s not how you treat potential guest. They had no idea if we had a reservation or not. And still treated us horribly. I did record her yelling through the door for us to leave. She says oh we don’t know what you guys were doing in there. Well I had the cleaning lady in there w me and it was quite obvious I was sitting on the toilet. I hope next time they at least ask first are you guys booking or have a reservation before just yelling through the bathroom door in such a distasteful manner.
