Harry, broken, disgusting
The first room we got was so gross we had to change to another room. The second room had long black hair all over the bathroom floor. The toilet seat was cracked so when you sat on it your butt got pinched and the sheets had pubic hair in them. It was a nightmare. My daughter didn’t even use the covers and slept in her clothes.
No internet in room - other issues
I booked this room because other reviewers commented positively about the room size, breakfast, and cleanliness. Yes, the room was clean and sizeable, but the TV didn't work (had to change rooms), and I didn't know about the non working internet until I arrived. Apologizing for no wifi in the room and lobby only (which still didn't work) made me feel like room was overpriced. Breakfast was also low brow with few choices. Staff seemed distracted but at least friendly.
New Management - Not Quite Ready
The staff at this hotel were friendly and helpful, but there are several problems that I am chalking up to new management. While adjusting the water temperature in the shower the handle came off in my hand. The cable television signal faded in and out making it impossible to watch. And after checking the times for breakfast, we arrived to find nothing placed out. A fellow traveler told us to ask at the desk for a packaged pastry. There was no signage to suggest this and we would have had no clue if not for the suggestion from the guest.
Clean and comfortable.
Staff was professional. Room and bathroom were clean. Property is well maintained. Check in and check out were easy. I didn't partake of the breakfast as they didn't have the order sheets prepared. I would stay here again.
Wingate stay unsatisfactory at best
Arrived in Elko, NV 8/4/20 and p searched for room for a two night stay. Trip Advisor suggested this Wingate hotel, there was a "reduced" rate, and we booked our room. We booked a King bed, and with confirmation in hand went to check in. Arrived and were greeted by a front desk employee that seemed to be bothered by my arrival. Not welcoming, indifferent to my presence and preoccupied with her own thoughts. This became evident as she assigned us a queen bed, ignoring the conformation of a Kingsized bed in suite. I went back to front desk and was told king was not available. I again showed my confirmation and after bringing in another staffer, a room, fully accessible, was now available. We moved our luggage up to 3rd floor, all was as confirmed. They requested we fill out breakfast orders for each mornings included breakfasts. Both days breakfasts were not fulfilled as ordered because several food items were no longer available. We did get a partial breakfast each day, but 50% were non selected food items. Staff made no apologies, just gave us food left over and readily available. "We didn't pick up enough food, we will do better tomorrow." Same issues on our 2nd day. Again, front desk attendant, morning period, seemed indifferent to our questions on why our bagged breakfasts to go were so different from our order. She just walked away saying something low under her breath, which sounded nothing like "We are sorry for your inconvenience." Room was large and had king bed, but furnishings were worn, outdated and several cushions had stuffing showing through split fabric coverings. Overall, stay was acceptable, just not nearly equal to the advertisement we bought prior to check in. One, the only elevator was not working at checkin, so carried bags up to third floor. Staff seemed to be friendly, but not welcoming.
