More about the hotel
Construction in progress
We really didn't know about the construction that was happening until we got there. We're talking major renovation of the rooms including doors and windows. Very noisy, but what do you expect? The crews were very hard workers and everyone seemed courteous enough so not that big of a deal. Can't wait to go back when its finished. We parked a RV with a trailer out front with no issue. It was off season so seemed like there was enough room on the street. Can't beat the location. 5 stars because we were treated very well by the staff. If you stay there keep an open mind and just try to enjoy yourself. It's Ensenada, not Cancun.
Fair
Better than I expected, needs a lot of improvements, has such an excellent location,I don't understand why they cannot enlarge their parking. Needs new TVs, showers were clogged. Noisy at night. Walking distance to Malecón
Excellent Hospitality, Above and Beyond Expectations
Stayed here on a Monday night. Parked in front, my car was broken into overnight. Rear window smashed, my guitar was stolen. Feet from the overnight clerk and under the eye of a camera, the hotel manager made it his responsibility to make right. The police were called, they took good care of us. Hotel staff helped us clean up the glass and tape plastic as a new window. The manager personally took us to a glass shop, can't get glass until Friday. He says stay please, complimentary, and let's get this taken care of. I understand stuff like this happens, and it really isn't the hotel's responsibility that my guitar was stolen. All I expected was a little love and some help, instead the service I am receiving is worthy of six stars. Upon review of the video, it turns out that the thief is a tall, blonde, white guy. Mexico still feels safe to me and just as hospitable as ever. Thank you Javier and the Ensenada Police. I hope the thief gets to spend some time in a Mexican jail.
Maybe with improvements?
The hotel advertise free public parking at a location nearby (reservation is not needed), ...not such a place! The only parking are limited spaces at the street in front of the hotel, there is no vigilance. In one night we got a dent in our car, hotel was not responsible. There is a very nice patio by the swimming pool, but this can be a con during the night. People sits there drinking and being loud until very late hours at night. Because they are not in the pool, the front desk does not call their attention. The room is clean, ladies do a very nice job, but smells a lot like Clorox. The shower didn't drain, you take a shower with your feet ankle deep in water. I hope I am wrong, but the ceiling looks like they just painted it without taking care of fungi. If you look closely, you can see black spots through the paint. Furniture is scarce, not even a night lamp! The beds are very hard, but I personally like them that way. The hotel has a lot of potential, maybe when they complete the renovation, and maybe if they can get an agreement with the Hotel San Nicolas to share a real parking lot, and maybe if they invest money on a good plumber. Right now as it is, they are charging to much money for the accommodations they offer. Don't risk getting a dent on your car! do not leave your car outside by the street!
Celebrating my birthday
Went to Tijuana and Ensenada on my birthday. This was the only place that had rooms available. Rooms were clean, place has a pool. Can't say too much they are renovating the place Cons: no parking!!! Was worried about my truck on the street. Carry the club for your steering wheel
